Max is in a booth, again with a frightening amount of books. But with a chocolate milkshake this time, which makes everything better. Or at least that's her theory.

Feel free to bother the X5. She could probably use the distraction.

"Okaaay," says the former Gundam Pilot. "You trying for a degree, or a hernia?"

Duo shifts a stack of books out of the way, and slides into the booth.

"A few things might be an understatement." He picks up a book and peers at the title. "Meditation?" He raises an eyebrow.

He rubs the back of his neck. "No reason, I guess! I learned some, from a friend. I'm not very good yet, though." Duo looks a little sheepish.

"I'm too fidgety. Even if I empty my mind of stuff, I have to be doing something. And it's too quiet."

Duo pretends to toss a book at her, scowling. "Hey, that's something to think about. Stealth is my bag, baby. Besides, I am usually rewarded by some action, then."

He tilts his head at her. "Having trouble with something?"

"We sure will. Which reminds me, I had an idea-"

He stops, and stares. "Shit, Max. I didn't know. That was the virus you were talking about? How did that work with your cat DNA? Are you okay?"

"..organs not out the ears is a good thing, yes. Geez, Max." He shakes his head. "Tell me if you need... anything, I guess."

Then he perks back up. "A wedding present for Svava, and a way to test our mad skills."

"Svava needs a new practical sword, really. But I thought she might like one from the Viking exhibit in London. An artifact, as it were. Since that would be a challenge for us, and a pretty sweet present."

Jason is curled in his secluded corner again.
Studying.
Yes, studying. That's all you need to know.
And there is nothing shiny in his pocket either.

He is however peering through a crevice of books at a certain X-5. Will he ever learn?

[identity profile] loyaltyinmotion.livejournal.com 2005-08-24 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Good thing he's used to it. Well, depending on how you look at it that is.
Perhaps if he leans farther over...

[identity profile] loyaltyinmotion.livejournal.com 2005-08-24 06:03 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, really interesting. Page turners usually require turning pages, don't they?

Jason props his elbows on the top of his booth and continues to watch her. Either he'll wear her down or he'll be wearing that book.

Even this moron knows that much. He snorts into his arms and smirks at her from over the booth.

"If you're going to pretend to read, at least pretend to read at your normal pace."

[identity profile] loyaltyinmotion.livejournal.com 2005-08-24 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
A troublesome grin spreads across his face.

"I don't find it distracting. Kinda nice actually."
He rests his chin on his forearm again.

"Unless, of course, you'd prefer to talk."

[identity profile] loyaltyinmotion.livejournal.com 2005-08-24 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
"Well call it a refreshing change of pace. I'm on the receiving end all the time at home. Call it, 'giving back to society'."

He continues to stare, resting happily on his arms.
