Guppy is in a booth, looking significantly more awake than he has done in a while. He is reading a large but thin book, which sometimes he turns upside down to look at differently. Occasionally he stops to wind up a clockwork mouse, which the kitten is playing with on the floor.

There's a Less bruised Anita peering over and waving a little bit.

Guppy spots her, waves back, scoops up the kitten and comes over.

"Hello Anita. Are you feeling better?"

She smiles at the kitten, eyes going a bit soft at the site of it.

Then she glances up at him and shrugs. "Still somewhat sore but better, yes, thank you.."

Guppy puts the kitten down, where he pads over to Anita. It is a tiny little creature, a black bundle of fluff.

"The bruises certainly look better. Your ribs will take a bit longer."

She bends over carefully, and offers her fingers for the kitten, smiling up at him she nods.

"Yeah, thats the worst part huh? the waiting."

She smiles again at the kitten. "Does it have a name?"

"No, the worst part is bumping into something just when you'd forgotton about them."

The kitten sniffs her fingers.

"His name's Scampi. He's about four weeks old and I'm hand rearing him. He was abandoned by his owner.

"I haven't done that yet, thank god" She winces.

Then strokes a finger along the cheek of the kitten "Scampi? like the dish?" She frowns again. "Poor thing.." Petting him.

"Yeah, that's right. He's doing quite well really, all things considered. Friendly little creature. I don't know why anyone would want to drown him."

Typical girl she looks up aghast, her eyes widening and mouth forming a outraged 'o'

"Drown him!? they tried to drown him!?"

"Tied him in a plastic bag and threw him into the pond. He was about two weeks old at the time. I just happened to be sitting next to it and heard the splash."

He shakes his head. "It's a horrible and totally unnecessary thing to do to a kitten. They could have taken him to an animal shelter if they didn't want him, or just put up with him for a few weeks and sold him to a loving home."

She looks horrified and pets the kitten very gently.

"People like that should be taken out and shot." And she means it.

A shake of her head. "You're very good to have rescued him and taken him in."

Scampi purrs like a miniature lawnmower.

"I wouldn't go that far on either count. The police are still looking for him, and I think most people would have done the same. I mean if you saw someone chuck a violently struggling bag into a pond you'd probably go wading in to rescue it too."

He decides that to avoid any fuss, it is better than he doesn't mention giving the kitten the kiss of life on the side of the pond afterwards.

She shrugs and shakes her head. "Unfortunatly animal cruelty laws are pretty lax where I come from"

A huff of a breath and she rubs the kitten "Yes I would have..but I'm not like most people" Faint smile.

"Where are you from?"

Guppy still maintains mentally that most people would have rescued the kitten. He has to have some faith in human nature; the good side of it anyway.

"St Louis, Missouri, America, Earth, year 2004" No she's not a milliway's veteran -at all-.

A faint smile up at him. "You?"

"Holby, near Wales, England, Earth, August 2005. To where I must be getting back to I am afraid. This little chap needs feeding." Guppy replies with a smile, scooping up the kitten.

"Nice to see you again Anita. Take care."

[ooc: sorry, mun has to go to bed]

She smiles at him. "Nice to see you again Guppy..and nice to meet Scampi"

And she watches them go
