Gimli hasn't been in the Bar sine he tacked up the notice for Sabin Rene Figaro and Captain Reynolds that their commissions were done, but he's there now, with breakfast. One cannot eat in one's master's kitchens all the time.

The dwarf inclines his head politely in return. "Be welcome in this place, then, Magius," he says. Sliding from his chair and losing a few inches of perceived height in the process, he bows. "Gimli, son of Gloin, at your service. Few enough have I known to use such titles as you do; I take it you come of the order of Istari- the wizards?"

Magius floats out of his chair and then lets down his feet. He bows to the dwarf and when he rises his eyes seem almost to glow.

"Hail Gimli, son of Gloin. Honor to thy line. I know not the order of Istari, though there was an Istar in my world. I am of the society known as the order of High Sorcery and am of the White-robed faction within it."

That's new. Both of Gimli's eyebrows go up at that.

"I see," he says. "We hail from different worlds then, Magius, unless it came to pass that the Ithryn Luin founded some Order in the farthest East of my world in the long years of the Third Age. My folk come of a world called Middle-earth, or Arda as the Elves would put it, and there were few sorcerors or wizards indeed in that land in my day."

"Ahh, a land of sorrows then."

Magius shakes his head. Magic is his life and flows through everything he does.

"Indeed. This place gathers beings from all palces I have seen. My world is called Krynn and has bountiful dwarves and wizards as well."

He grins.

"Sorrows? Aye, I suppose, among other things," Gimli murmurs. "To hear the Elves tell it, Middle-earth's history is full to the brim and then some with the stuff. Then again, it's nearly all the history of the Elves, with the odd Man or Dwarf popping up now and again to send the story spiraling off in a different direction."

Not that he doesn't like them rather better than most Dwarves have for many years, but nine and a half years in the Blessed Realm surrounded by naught but elves can give a fellow something of a jaundiced view of their historians.

"I must say, I don't believe I've ever heard of this Krynn. Earth, aye, and a world called the Disc, but Krynn is unfamiliar to me." He moves to offer Magius a nearby seat, although the fellow already has one. "Would you tell me about it?"

He settles in the seat offerred.

"Elves do inded have their own... interesting take on history. My own world sports no less than ten brands of the folk, and each has their own truths. My world of Krynn has a long history as well, and even more of one since I died. Where to begin... My world is one built and helopd by much magic. Almost all magic is provided by the Gods. There are fifteen Gods and many races on it. there are five continents, though most on the main one know of no others... It is a magical world full of many adventures. One of them even involved me. "

He goes on to tell the story of Huma and the Dragonlance and other such tales. Krynn has a lot of tales.

Gimli settles back to listen, mentally attempting to sort the various Gods out by comparison with the Valar. The dragon parts have him shifting a little bit in his seat, but he listens nonetheless; Master Robinton taught him enough to know that not all dragons in all worlds are quite the same as his.

Magius takes several breaks to drink and when he finishes several tales, pauses and smiles.

"Krynn's history entails mmany such tales, a few of which I have even been told after my own death."

"Ah, you're dead too?" Gimli asks. "When I first came here I thought for certain I'd been sent to the wrong Hall of Waiting by mistake. No one of my world, not even the Powers themselves, knows truly what fate befalls Men when they die- so when I opened the door and came into this place, I thought I'd finally stumbled upon the answer. Seems I'm wrong, but I shan't object. Mahal- he who made the dwarves of Middle-earth- will send for me eventually, I imagine."

"Well, I was dead, but I seem to have awoken on my own planet before coming here...I am not sure why, except my God said to go and learn."

Shrugs.

"He tends to be very...mysterious"

"I am sure your God will collect you when your time is done. he probably sent you here in the first place."

Gimli nods. "Given that he's told us that we're to spend our time in the Halls learning such craft and deeper lore as we did not in life, so that we might one day assist him in the re-making of the world after the Last Battle, I expect he wanted some new ideas he couldn't get the ordinary way. This place seems good enough to learn in."

Magius chuckles.

"I am sure you are right. I must go for now, but I would enjoy hearing of your world. Perhaps we can meet again and trade tales and share ail of an evening?"

"Fair enough," says Gimli. "I'll be about- in the forges out back, if not in this place proper. Be well, Magius."
