Nita's outside, running around the lake. Because when you're running, you don't have to be thinking.

Eventually, though, she'll have to stop. Feel free to catch her.

Peter blinks, looks a little wary, though not very.

"...no, afraid not. He wouldn't let me ride him if he did."

"Oh, okay." She shrugs. "Well, around here, you never know."

Peter looks more than a bit dubious, but shrugs.

"No, you really don't, do you?"

Sounds like time for a subject change to Nita, because mentioning that Bree let Shasta ride him would just maybe be a bad idea.

"So where are you from, originally? Somewhere in England, I take it."

Yes, but that was an emergency. Emergencies and wars don't count.

"London," Peter says slowly. This is usually the point where he explains about Narnia as well, but he has a feeling she already knows.

She catches some of his dubiousness, and gives him an awkward look.

"Sorry, did I say something wrong?"

"No," Peter assures her hurriedly. "Just - I'm sorry, I'm not much good at this sort of dancing around a topic. You know about Narnia, don't you?"

"Me neither," she admist. "Um. Sort of, yeah."

Peter smiles, not really intending to push the subject further.

"Well, then, there we are. We're spared several minutes of conversation that would be tedious for both of us, as I've said it many times before, and as you already know it. Although I'm at something of a disadvantage now."

She laughs, rather relieved, and shrugs. "My world is a pretty typical Earth, as far as I know. My life, maybe not."

Peter raises an eyebrow and grins.

"Anything in particular I should know? Like, oh, that you were once a High King of a different world?"

She laughs. "Well, I did find out recently I'm sort of royalty on another world. . . I don't know if that counts or not." She grins. "Mainly, though, I'm a wizard."

"It counts, as it's practically the same thing that happened to me - but a wizard? I must say, my experience with those is rather limited."

She raises her eyebrows. "And you've been here how long? I mean, we seem to be pretty thick on the ground."

Peter counts.

"Ah - four months, give or take? I don't know, I've just not really met many."

She shrugs. "It happens. Like you said, it's amazing how many people you don't run into."

Peter nods.

"I've mostly stuck to my family and a few friends, I suppose, whether or not it was the right thing to do. Lilly thinks I need to meet more people."

"Yeah, you find a group and you stick with them. Kind of silly, really -- there's all these people from all sorts of different worlds, and we don't take advantage of it." She pauses. "Well, that's me, anyway."

"And me, as well," Peter agrees. "Unfortunately, I suppose. Although I've met a number of new people on Security, now."

"I'll bet. You know Jack Bauer?"

"...no, I don't think I've met him, though I probably should. I've seen his name on the roster."

She smiles and shrugs. "He's the only other person on Security I really know.

"Anyway--" She climbs to her feet and brushes herself off. "Great talking to you again, but I think I need a shower."

Peter jumps to his feet after her, and bows - not a full court bow, but a bow nonetheless.

"The pleasure was all mine, Nita."
