Jim is sitting at the bar, picking morosely at a sandwich. He's getting entirely fed up of being in this bar mainly because mun hasn't played him enough.
He'll talk to anyone. Except Michael Moore.

David has walked up to the bar to get a book. He looks at James curiously, since he likes watching people eat.

'Hello son. Hungry?'

'You can't? And why's that?'
no subject
This is a subject of much woe.
no subject
'Are you sick?' He looks around. 'And where are your parents? You're a little young to be wandering around a bar on your own.'

"Something on your mind?" It's Nina, dropping into a seat beside him with a salad.
no subject
He shrugs and folds his napkin, not recognising her. 'Just a little bored.'
no subject
"With all these weirdos and wonders around?" Nina picks at her salad, shooting him a more or less amiable grin. "Where're you from?"
no subject
He smiles a little. 'I haven't met many strange people, haven't been here long.' He reaches for his wine. 'I'm from Washington D.C. You?'

He looks older, but Heler would at least recognize his name. Behrooz, however, doesn't see Heller at first.
no subject
He hesitates a little before heading over, but he doesn't feel he can ignore him. 'Hello Behrooz.'

Blink. Blink blink.
... somehow he doubts just staring long enough will actually result in the Secretary of Defense magically disappearing.
So he manages to make his voice say, "Hello, sir." Which after easily develops into "I'm - I don't -" In his head, 'I'm sorry' sounds like an awfully worthless phrase.

He sits down next to the boy and points at the milkshake. 'Is it good?'
no subject
"I don't usually like them that much. Someone bought it for me."
no subject
'You look older. I guess we're from different times.'
He can be polite to this boy, he knows he wasn't behind it all. He knows that his parents brainwashed him and he also knows that he came good in the end.
But when he thinks about having to wear that jumpsuit and sign that ridiculous 'confession' - yes, he's still a little angry.
no subject
"Probably. It's been... a long time for me."
He's rather wishing he knew how long it had been for Heller.

Ooh, this is going to be a fun conversation.

He can't smile though, not really. He feels terrible about what happened to Jack and feels that he should have been able to stop it. Nevertheless, he heads over straight away.
'Hi Jack. I've been hoping to run into you.' He does manage a smile, even if it is a bit weak.
no subject
"Secretary Heller. I didn't know you were here, sir," he says, hi mind whirling, trying to figure out how he should play this.
no subject
He hesitates for a moment. 'I'm so sorry. About everything that happened.'
no subject
He shakes his head. "It's fine. I've dealt with it."
no subject
He looks at him sincerely. 'I was angry when I found out that you were being turned over to the Chinese. I don't blame you for trying to run. But - it shouldn't have happened like it did.'
no subject
He glances away for a moment.
Like letting Paul die.
He looks back, trying to keep his face expressionless.
"I tried to escape. It shouldn't surprise anyone," he says, trying to not show how much it rankles that everyone will think that he tried to escape, when, even before he'd heard about Logan's orders, he hadn't even had the thought. Part of him wants to tell Heller the truth, but he needs time to consider the implications of that.
He shrugs again, trying to keep this low-key, as well as discourage further conversation on the topic. "Besides, I never expected to reach retirement age anyway. What day was it out there when you arrived here?"
