There is the possibility of the Battle of the Bards tonight. (The mun isn't sure on the mix up of dates either.) So, counting that possibility, Svava is dressed for it, in a smart white blouse, green-patterned flared skirt and green slippers. If the musical showdown is tonight, there will be dancing. And she will be dancing. Life- at least here at Milliways for this moment- is good.

She thinks for a moment, "The FBI does deal with counter terrorism, but the CIA, or rather the Counter Terrorist Unit, deals with it more fully. Terrorism is when a group of people attack civlian targets for the purpose of spreading fear and anxiety."
Michelle hasn't had to talk about her job in a while.

"Attack- how?"
no subject
"A variety of methods. Terrorist groups, although it can be one person working alone, seek to create the most chaos and the most destruction they can. So, they blow up buildings, cars, themselves to spread uncertainty and fear. Ramon was trying to buy a virus to sell to another terrorist group who would have used it on innocent people."

She raises a brow, listening. "... So, basically, an army attacks those not in an army? In their homes, without a war being official?"
Svava blinks. "How could you use an illness as a weapon, though?"

She nods a little, "Something like that, except terrorists aren't really an army and the attacks can happen anywhere."
Michelle tries to think of how to explain it, from their conversation she has the feeling that Svava is not from anywhere near her time or place.
"Where I'm from, illnesses can be...manipulated into being stronger or more deadly. Then, they can be simply put into the air and affect a number of people. The virus Ramon was trying to buy could have killed a million people in a matter of days."

She blinks. "So... people could all be at... market, perhaps. Families and everyone, shopping and trading, and there would be an attack without warning?" Svava frowns-
And then stares at Michelle, horrified.

She glances at her glass for a moment, "There's a few of us here."

Svava smiles faintly. "My fiancee works on Security."

"Quite different worlds, quite different times."

"Calenders weren't really known then, or dates kept the same. From a few references, it would be before one thousand, but that's as much as I've been able to figure."

"And the Midgard I knew was-" She bites her lip, thinking, "How there are many different sorts of earths, each with something different? It was different than most of the ones people are from, here."

"I've heard of a lot of different Earths, here. How was it different?"
no subject
"As for how they would be now, around the year two thousand? There's no way to do a comparison to say."

"Anyway, I should go find Tony, but it was very nice meeting you, Svava."
