Magius stands near the lake out back, his hands extended outward, his eyes shining a deep purple. His hands are glowing a deep purple as well.
Several feet above his hands whirl glowing white globes.
He looks deep in concentration as he sends the globes through intricate dances, their movements accompanied by music.
He has been thinking a lot lately and so his thinking leads to action. After studying music and as much as he can on music magic, he is trying to learn more, by action.

All his attention is bent on the task as he bends the power to his will.

Magius rises slowly and takes out a piece of silk and picks up the stone with it. He places the stone within his pouches and then turns. One eyebrow goes up as he sees Raistlin, but he is unfazed at his appearance. Magis isnt a secret, even one this powerful.
"Greetings and Good Afternoon, Raistlin."

"I only learned of it here. On another world, Elves weild musical songs as weapons and creations. I found a book on it in the library and studied it for weeks. It is... complex in the extreme, but, it is effective. It takes some effort but it also magnifies that effort and gives extra weight to whatever you are casting. All in all, a very useful kind of magic."
he nods simply.
"And how goes your day?"
no subject
It passes much as the rest do...ever constantly forward.
*He inclines his head slighlty glancing to the slightly taller man. *
Perhaps a place to sit would be a better place for conversation hm?

Magius waves a hand towards the Restaurant, and begins to walk that way.
"There is much to study here, and more to learn. Even though, it would be hard to take some of it with you."
no subject
I had wondered what would become of the learning I gained here when I returned to Palanthas...if it would remain in my mind or vanish with this place until I returned.
*Glancing to Magius he watches the mage for reaction to his comment. *
You are from Krynn...have you returned there since you came here?
no subject
"No. I was sent here by Paladine and Solinari. They simply told me to go and learn and grow. I imagine they will either call me back when they want me , or they will leave me here. Either way, they have spoken to me twice in dreams."
He cocks his head.
"I think... some remember, and some forget their knowledge. But I was referring to something different."
He gathers his thoughts.
"The musical magic I learned is from another universe, Raistlin. Which emans it fucntions here because that universe's thread is connected to this place at the End of All. It is improbable that it would function in our home universe unless there was a major artifcact from that world present."
no subject
*Raistlin nods thoughtfully and ponders emperimenting a little. *
I wonder what force brought me to this place...was it by accident or was there some fate involved? An interesting thought...
*Taking a ragged breath he slides his gaze to Magius again as they walk side by side. *
Certainly at no other point in time would I have any interest in hearing what a white-robed follower of Paladine had to say.
*Raistlin smirks faintly. *

"I have walked the outcast's path, Raistlin. Whether I wear white robes or not, my words carry that experience. And that is why I am here, perhaps: to teach, to learn. "
he shrugs.
"And mayhap you will learn something that will change your future. Nothing is ever written in Mithril."
no subject
*He cannot help but feel just little bitterness at Magius' claim. What would one so pristine and seemingly wise as this man know of being an outcast...but he swallows the bitterness like a pill for now. There was far too much yet to learn to start making enemies of potential teachers now. *
If there is anything yet that I have learned about the ever constant flow of time...it is that nothing is ever certain. Which would explain why I am still standing does it not? They claimed I would die before I came of age.
*Narrowing his eyes he glares at nothing. *
And yet...here I am...more powerful than those who came before me.

He grins.
"There is always a chance."
no subject
Alternate universes...infinate chances. Who knows...perhaps I may even decieve my own fate mm?
*he chuckles quietly but his breath catches in his throat a moment, that familiar sensation of suffocating seizing him for a brief moment as he coughs, stopping to lean heavily against his staff and fishing a well used cloth from a deep pocket of his ebony robes, his entire body seeming to crumple. *
no subject
"Do you wish solace, Raistlin?"
no subject
I do not need pity. I am fine. Shall we inside?
*Speaking in a raspy voice he steps away from Magius stubbornly and makes his way to the doors, already producing the little pouch of herbs for his tea. *
((I need to head to work. Blah. See you later perhaps!))
no subject
"I did not offer pity, but so be it."
He follows Raistlin and heads for a table, waving at a waitrat to take their orders.
"Red wine from Palanthus."
no subject
Hot water...please.
*He adds as an afterthought, opening the pouch containing the herbs and dumping them into the steaming cup. He is silent for a while letting it steep before raising his eyes to Magius again. *
It is purly reaction...everyone is so eager to pity the weak...forgive me.
no subject
"No need for forgiveness. It is not easy to realize that someone means somethin new whn all you have heard is one response."
Magius sighs.
"I was granted some small power of helping. It cant heal truly, but it eases people for an hour or so. The Gods are soemtimes... wry in their gifts."
He smiles in interest at the tea,
"What kind of tea do you use? I am hardly an herbalist, but all things related to magic I am interested in."
no subject
It was a recipe given to me by Par-Salian. Therer is...I think...lemon peel, mullein...angelica and orange peel. Also a little burdock and coltsfoot. It...helps.
*He shrugs faintly and sips at the tea. *
((Getting a little squished in the corner.*L* ))

Magius nods quietly.
"Milliways can be a true solace to mnay. Perhaps in your studies you will achieve a way to succeed in all your ends."
no subject
*he nods faintly and closes his eyes a moment. *
My ambition is to succeed where most believe I would fail. I will prove my worth to those nonbelievers.
*Glancing up again to the white-robed mage he tilts his head. *
What is your story then Magius...how did you come to be here and why? You mentioned it was the will of Paladine but for what reason?
no subject
Magius grins.
"And then, years later, they woke me with a fresh body, as you can se, and told me:'Go, Learn, Study, Grow.' and that is all. "
He shakes his head.
"I am here and I do all three. I know not when or if they will summon me, but i do as they bade me."
no subject
A tool of the gods...left to do as they tell you to do without knowledge of when or what they will want of you. I much rather enjoy being the master of my own destiny.
no subject
"And how are you sure that someone didnt plan what you are doing?"
He raises an eyebrow in question.
"Nonetheless, I find my life to be a good one. And with opportunities as never before."
no subject
Must be nice. *The bitterness in his tone is difficult to disguise but he shrugs then and leans back. * I shall make my own opportunities.
no subject
Magius rises.
"Success and long life, Raistlin. You deserve both."
He bows.
no subject
*he smiles ruefully then and looks up.* Good day Magius.
