Illyria's in the bar. Since her alter-ego has finally dropped her books, the mun thought it only fair that Illyria have a book of her own. It's actually a book of Sudoku puzzles, which come fairly easy to her, given that she's inherently got the mind of a mathematical genius hiding in there, and that she was a fairly logical goddess all on her own. So she's good at pattern puzzles. Go, blue.
Come pester her.
Come pester her.

*Pester pester*
He peers over her shoulder, having no clue what she's doing or what the point is, and chooses a random number. "42." He suggests. It sounds like a good answer to him.

Then she looks up.
"It's a sort of puzzle." she explains. "Based on logic. The numbers fit in a pattern, which relies on no repetition within the rows. I find it intriguing because most patterns rely on repetition."
no subject
This is rather why I left off speaking to Fred
"I see, yes. You are right. That's what makes it a pattern, I think."
But they're based on logic. And what's he know?

She starts another puzzle, but isn't paying full attention to either it or him.

"A way to pass the time, to no real end. But I felt like entertaining myself in such a manner this evening."

"Then I regret that I disturbed you. I hope that you may find another source of amusement."
no subject
*snerk*"Speaking with you is often amusing."
no subject
"I pity you, that you find it so."
no subject
"You would do well to choose your words more carefully. I will not tolerate the pity of any creature. The last individual who tried it was the angel, and he only exists now because he currently possesses more power than I."
no subject
"This is not my first warning. Why have you tollerated me this long?"
no subject
"Nor would I expect you to understand, if I did."
It is perhaps an unintentional jab, meant more to stop this particular line of questioning than to be hurtful.
no subject
"No, you are right. I probably would not. I am not even sure why I tolerate your company." He remarks crassly. And rather foolishly.

"Evening," he smiles, standing next to her table.

"Hello. Duo, is it?" she asks, pointedly, recalling that he did not wish to be called "small thing".

Then winces at the memory of licorice.
"Please attempt to refrain from mentioning that vile candy in the future." she says, looking repulsed by the thought.

And then, frowning,
"What possessed you to follow me into my portal? It seems I can go nowhere without trailing curious humans in my wake."

"You seem only half-grown, yourself. The youngest child had nearly as much power as those running the place, it seemed, considering his ability to form things out of the materials given."

"If the universe did not have rules I would not have been confined to my present, limited form. It is entirely less than optimal."
She looks down at herself with much the same expression that Duo just did.

...here's hoping that doesn't get a smiting.

"It will do, as I am becoming accustomed to it."
She eyes him, curiosly.
"Where are you from that they teach children to fight?"
