Flora Poste looks around the bar with some confusion. She had walked into Beershorn Halt today to spend a quiet hour or so in the Tea Shoppe, write another page or two of her immortal novel, and escape for a time the gloom of Cold Comfort Farm.
This is obviously not the Tea Shoppe, though she was certain she had indeed walked through its door. Beershorn Halt is a very small village—surely she could not have mixed up the buildings. Flora turns to leave, but takes another moment to look around.
What an extraordinary gathering. How is it that such a group of people came to be in rural Sussex? Granted, the Starkadders are odd, but the patrons of this establishment seem to be something else again. Flora remembers her objective to “live life, and collect material.” There is surely material aplenty here. So she cautiously takes a seat at an empty table.

"Yeah, I guess so." The small smile returns. "So, where are you from?" Witch Baby's wondering when the standard ream of introductory questions is going to get old. She figures it'll be once she stops getting completely insane answers.

ooc: Flora's mun is having a great time in Milliways, but if she's underslept at work tomorrow, things could get ugly. Would you be interested in Slow Time?

"Yes, I am," she replies. "And you? Are you from Earth as well?"

She looks at Flora curiously. "So, in your London - are there demons and weird blue goddesses and stuff?" Because, yeah, Fred and Illyria are from L.A., too, and even from around her time, but it's not really the same thing. Witch Baby thinks that her world - populated by any number of weird things and particularly by ghosts, fairy godmothers and animate mannequins - is completely normal.

"My time," she says, hoping that her phrasing is correct, "is the 30s. The 1930s," she ammends, just in case. "And no, there are no demons or goddesses there, that I'm aware of. Just some ordinarily odd people. Are demons and goddesses normal where you're from? In your time?"

"No. Nothing like that. On my Earth." She really must make notes on all of this. It would make for a fascinating, if thoroughly strange, novel. "I do have some unusual relatives. And Cold Comfort Farm is presumably under a curse, though I think a little bit of sensible management would clear things up."

Witch Baby's also wondering how "a bit of sensible management" can clear up a curse. Hasn't seemed to work for her ever.
