Daniel is sitting in a booth with a cup of coffee in front of him.
The bar happened to give him a good book on sociology so he decided to give it a try...
It's been a while since he's been seen in bar and it looks as if it's a welcome respite to him.

OOC: As stated in crack chat, mun has interview @ 5:30PM Eastern so slowtime will most likely be needed but any and all threads are welcome.

"Air Force, never heard of it. Must be an Earth thing. I'm assuming you're from Earth."

She smiled back.

"Evidently I wasn't made for knitting. But I'll manage somehow, I'll finish this frelling thing and then I'll never do it again."

Daniel nods.

"I am. Sometimes the challenge is what makes something worth it though."

He laughs and shrugs.

"You seem like someone who could get through any challenge."

"There aren't many people who understand that."

She sipped her own coffee again, hiding a smile.

"I'd give it a try at least."

"Believe me, I never was one to work with the Air Force in the beginning, but I trudged through it. I also think that I am only better for what I have experienced. True, I've seen a lot of things both good and bad but it's the adventure that intrigues me sometimes."

He orders more coffee.

"Thats what I miss most. The adventure. I was never happier than when I had something adventurous to do. Despite the bad times."

She lifted her coffee cup to her lips, hiding the expression. When she lowered it, her face was neutral.

"So what was so exciting about your job?"

Daniel squints for a moment. Then his eyes go wide and he backs away a bit.

"You...said your name was...Aeryn, right?"

Eyes her body almost waiting for an attack.

Aeryn might be mean, but she doesn't randomly attack people, often. She is however, wondering why Daniel is looking at her like she might kill him.

"Yes. Is that a problem?"

He squints.

"You uh...just remind me of someone...."

He blushes and looks sheepishly downward.

"That bad?" She raised an eyebrow.

"In what way?"

"Your resemblance now that I look at it...is uncanny."

He shakes his head.

"Let's just say...I was..attacked."

He doesn't seem to want to elaborate.

"I'm sure I'd remember if I attacked you."

She frowned, her eyebrows coming together.

Had she been a human girl she might have added 'someone as cute as you isn't easy to forget'. But she wasn't and Aeryn would never say such a thing.

"That's what I was thinking, I guess when I uh, realized the resemblance I was taken by surprise is all."

He sighs.

"I apologize if it made you feel uncomfortable."

"It'd take a lot more than a human man to make me feel uncomfortable." She proclaimed haughtily.

Never mind her words, she did seem slightly put-out.

"Other than being a lot less malicious, you do have the same kind of attitude as her though."

He pauses and holds up his hands.

"That's a good thing though."

"How is it a good thing if she attacked you?"

She narrowed her eyes at Daniel, folding her arms defensively.

"You have the 'I won't let anything get me down' kind of attitude. There are so many people who just don't understand that a lot of their suffering is in their own mind. Sometimes if people didn't take everything so seriously then they would be able to sit back and enjoy life a lot easier emotionally."

"Really and I strike you as the --" She gave a small cough. "-- non-serious type?"

She was finding it very amusing, it was funny how wrong one person could be.
