(no subject)

Sheppard is seated at a booth with a beer and the deck of cards the Bar gave him. He frowns at the cards he has set out in front of him, biting his lip a bit as he thinks. It seems that the game of solitare has got him stuck.

Who wants to offer not so helpful suggestions?

"I don't know. I ran into him recently too. He looks just like me, but he's Scottish. Naraht said she thinks we might be twins, and Merrick said that I was his younger brother. But it doesn't feel right, now that I've thought on it. Plus, why should I trust what Merrick's said at all?"

"Maybe." He considers this for a few moments. "Although Merrick did mention him by name, and I'm pretty sure it's the same Merrick. I hope there's only one of them, anyway."

He looks back at Sheppard, startled. "You died? How did that work?"

"Sounds... unnerving." He glances at the cards still lying on the table. "Weir is your queen, right?"

Lincoln nods.

Gromit finishes his smoothie, rather loudly, and swings his legs. He knows he should leave, but he's bored and a bit nosy, so he feels justified. Besides, he's not going to tell anyone.

"Thanks. And hey, sweet dreams." There's a strange look on his face as he says it.

Gromit decides it's time to go too.
