Adric was in the bar, at the bar in fact, and he'd just discovered the joys of ice cream, as well as finding that he could pay for food at least by doing calculations and sums for Bar. It worked out well, even though he was fairly sure she could do them herself, as she seemed quite proficient at it before he came along, but it was something at least and he had the sense not to argue it.

Currently he had a banana split, with two bananas, six scoops of ice cream, each a different flavor, and enough toppings that they were spilling out of the dish, he'll probably share if anyone asks, and he does like to meet people

(I've got until my da' and my brother get back from the store, not sure how long that'll be, but it's a bit of time at least, other than that, slowtime is love)

"Greetings, fellow traveler."

And there was the blue-furred Hank McCoy.

Adric blinked, then again, spoon halfway to his mouth, it was in the dilemma zone, halfway between being too much effort to put it back down in the dish, and being too rude to continue with the bite.

After the briefest moment's hesitation he set the spoon back in the dish and smiled, "Hello. I'm Adric. Who're you?"

"Hank McCoy at your service. I take it you are fairly new to Milliways?"

Hank grins.

He scratched the crest of an ear, squinting and thinking that one over for a moment. Then he nodded, "Over a week now I think, but not much longer than that I don't think, haven't really kept track of time, out of practice after being dead."

"Indeed. This place makes it hard to keep track anyway. And it isnt important. Nonetheless, welcome to Miliways."

He smiled at that, "Thanks. Much better here than being dead." And so it was, as much as he'd liked the quiet where he could do block transfer calculations without interruption, the food here was much better, and so was the company.

Hank grins.

"I hope so. Have you met many people here?"

He nodded, then smiled crookedly, sliding his dish out of the way, "Some anyway. More than when I was dead." He shrugged, "Still meeting more, part of why I like it here."

"Good. Friends are good to have."

Hank grins.

"So what do you do around here?"

Adric blinked, pondering that as well, summing up, "I do sums for the bar, though it was doing well enough without me before." A shrug, "It's something. I ... er... make things sometimes, mechanical little things." He decided to leave out the knife-throwing practice, at least for the time being.

"Souinds like a good practice. We all need something to keep us going."

Hank rose.

Adric smiled brightly at that, nodding, "So we do." A pause then, brow creasing just slightly, then he tilted his head, looking rather like a curious bird, "What've you got to keep you going?"

"love, science, medicine, a dream."

Hank smiles.

"A willingness to learn."

Adric smiled at that, nodding, "Learning is something we should all strive for." Alzarius, and the starliner in particular, held learning in the highest regard, Adric even had a star for Mathematical Excellence.

"It is indeed."

he smiles.

"I must away, but , I hope your search and your calculations all come out well for you."
