Todd finished up his gardening shift earlier, and got cleaned up and dressed. He was hoping to run into Neil in the room or in the bar to see about plans. But he couldn't find him anywhere. He debated on getting something to eat, but felt too troubled. Something seemed wrong somehow.

Perhaps a stroll out back would help.

So there's a poet with a jacket on against the chilled night air, watching the moon and stars over ahead as he walked near the woods.

There's a woman with a flying horse outside, happily stargazing.

Helen lands Melina gracefully. She's been practicing. "Hi, Todd! How are you this evening?"

"It certainly is a nice night for it," she says, warmly. Her eyes soften, and she dismounts Melina. "Sure everything's alright? You know you can talk to me."

Helen keeps a concerned face. "Probably? Don't ignore feelings. That's never a good idea."

Helen smiles. "I understand that." She shifts topics to what she hopes will be happier conversation. "I had a long talk with Neil today. It's wonderful he finally found work!"

"That's wonderful." She grins. "He talked me into reading Shakespeare." She laughs a bit. "When I questioned whether it should be read aloud, he offered to read opposite me." Her face brightens. "I have a feeling this will be very interesting."

"So I have heard." She smiles warmly, comfortingly. "You should join us."

There's a tall, slim girl coming just out of the woods on a path nearby, but she doesn't see him. Instead, she is putting starry white flowers into gently waving hair, and humming quietly to herself.

[identity profile] avonlea-girl.livejournal.com 2005-10-05 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Anne spins for a moment, dreamily, and laughs up at the moon, before some movement catches her attention, and she blushes, coming back from whatever dream she had spun for herself.

"Good evening," she calls, in a clear, sweet voice.

[identity profile] avonlea-girl.livejournal.com 2005-10-05 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
"It's a beautiful evening, isn't it?" she says dreamily. "I love early autumn nights. The sky is so clear, and the moon feels as though it's calling to me."

[identity profile] avonlea-girl.livejournal.com 2005-10-05 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
She blushes a bit, her eyelashes startlingly back against her cheeks as she looks down.

"Yes," she admits. "I love to write, but I've never written anything serious, you know."

[identity profile] avonlea-girl.livejournal.com 2005-10-05 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, really?" Anne looks delighted, her eyes shining and starry in the moonlight.

"I'd love to read them sometime. If you don't mind," she adds, quickly.

"Of course," she says, to both the unspoken wariness and the question.

"Perhaps we should get to know each other first," she offers, and hold out her hand. "Anne Shirley. It's a pleasure to meet you."
