For the first time in a while there's a Michelle in the bar. She's got her laptop open and is looking for ideas.

Be careful, you might just wind up in her article.

But anyway, she's also got chips and salsa and is willing to share.

Cally nods.

"Yes, in London." She makes a face. "You are very lucky, then. I'm an international relations major and almost half of my classes are history and the others are mostly politics, so the majority of my classes have term papers. What did you major in?" she asks, politely curious.

Cally thinks again about military and government uses for computers. It's probably very important to keep computers, and the information they hold, secure. Albeit, with the internet only being developed in her world, she can hardly fathom what computer security would entail.

"You travel a lot in your job?" she asks, interested. "That's part of the reason why I wanted to do international studies, so I could travel and see the world. I've never been out of England."

Cally grins.

"That's true. And I enjoy it here, even if much of it is strange and there are people from every place and time. But it wasn't exactly what I had in mind when I dreamed of traveling to far of places. Not exactly something you can find a Fodor's guide for."

Cally's gaze skims quickly past the observation window, which makes her uneasy and awed all at once, and focuses on the door.

"True. A little eerie, too, that it's only certain people, but...." She trails off and then shrugs. "I'm just glad I'm not stuck here. I have too much to get done, even though people tell me time stops for people who are bound. It still just doesn't seem right, to stop people from going about their daily lives."

She considers this for awhile.

"I've never considered that," she says quietly. She thinks about her mother and father. Could she see them here, possibly? Her heart beats a little faster at the idea, but she says nothing, just breathes in a little and sighs.

"Although, I know for certain that Milliways is the only place I'll ever meet a valkyrie or a masterharper or anyone who can do magic." Or so she thinks.

Cally glances back over at her typewriter and sighs again.

"It's been lovely talking to you--and looking at your impossibly tiny computer--but I'm afraid I should go back to working on my term paper. I need to at least make it through a rough draft." She smiles. "It was nice meeting you, Michelle."
