Van Helsing is sitting at a table, Beowulf nearby for scritching, which Van Helsing does quite a bit of - almost like a nervous habit. Which, probably isn't too far off, since he actually is a bit nervous. Indications of such, beyond the persistant dog-petting would be the nearby, mostly concealed weaponry and the fact that his hat is in place, pulled down over his face. Unless one looked closely, one might think the man to be asleep.

He's not.

Believe me he's not.

Far too much stuff for him to sleep in such a crowded area as the bar.

Actually, his eyes are constantly moving; searching; seeking any unusual movement or entrance.

He might be looking for Nick.

Don't worry; he won't kill him. He couldn't without serious repercussions anyway; doesn't mean he won't issue a warning or two.

Van Helsing feels a gentle tap on his shoulder. yes Amanda thought he was asleep.

He's not tired, he's watching things.

She takes a seat. Not one to beat around the bush ,"Nick is safe."

"Where is he?"

"Dealing with wedding plans."

"Yes, but where?"

'Dealing with wedding plans', to VH, doesn't constitute 'safe'.

Amanda gets a little weary, "Why? I told you he's safe."

He frowns.

"Because 'safe' is a relative term."

He pets Beowful.

"And I need to see for myself."

She is hesitant but since Faith gave her no indication that Van Helsing was an enemy, "I believe he is in his room."

"Thank you."

He doesn't look any less tense.

He also doesn't look like he's going anywhere just yet.

"I was just trying to help."

she takes a breath,

"What danger is it that you think is threatens him?" she knows that he has already answered this but perhaps now he might know more, or something to stave off the foreboding feeling welling up inside her.

He sighs.

"I wish I knew. All I have is a 'feeling'. And it's getting stronger."

[OOC: okay, I will be at work for another couple of hours and then I should be back after 9pm PST, otherwise we can pick it back up tomorrow.]

"How accurate are these, 'feelings' of yours?"

"Pretty damned accurate."

Amanda puts her hand to her heart unable to conceal her concern.

"Well at least we know he isn't in danger at this very moment. I will be sure to keep my eyes peeled."

He tips his head up, enough to look at her from beneath his hat, enough that she can see most of his face.

"Actually, ma'am, we don't know that."

"What kind of danger could he be in up in his room planning his wedding?"

She is on the verge of finding out his room number from Faith and then camping out there. The poor guy has been through enough, can't he just get married in piece?

"As old as you are and you can't figure out that just because you don't understand the potential danger doesn't mean there is no danger?"

He tilts his head to one side.

"Evil is something I can sense. There is something evil in or going on with Nick. This, unfortunately, is the best I can tell you. Though, I would advise against you attempting anything at all or getting too close, there's no telling what might happen or what he may do. So, watch yourself. Under normal circumstances, Nick is little danger to anyone, but these are not normal circumstances."

Since she can't recall having told Van Helsing that she is an immortal or how old she is she takes a bit of offense at this, which can be heard in her tone, "And how old do you think that I am?"

"I will be careful." And low there was some clarity.

She hasn't told him, but VH tends to know things, or, at the very least, to sense them.

"Older than most people believe you are."

He nods. "Good."

Damn. His intuition seems to be extremely accurate. Amanda seems to be a bit irritated.

"Perhaps I am. And I think there is more to you Van Helsing than would first appear."

[OOC: Sorry I have to slowtime but I'm at Karate. Be back in a few hours]

He raises an eyebrow.

"Probably."

"I should get back to work. I will keep you updated if anything comes up with reguards to Nick."

she stands, walks over and pets beowolf before heading out the door.
