Gavin walks in from outside, rubbing his arms. It's a lot colder out there than he expected, or what the Tatooinian youth is useful.

He notices Inyri and grins, lifting one arm to give a small wave as he approaches. "Hey!"

Inyri raises her hand in a wave as she turns a page. "Hi."

He takes a seat across from her and nods towards the book. "That any interesting?"

"Treasure Island." Inyri looks at the cover, "Is very interesting. About pirates."

"Like the ones the Wraiths pretended to be once?"

"Yeah, only in waterships. It's pretty good." Inyri nods, looking over at him. "How are you?"

"Okay." He rubs at his arms again. "It's gotten cold out there."

"It's...November...Earth month. Starts getting cold." Inyri smiles softly over at him.

"Well, it shouldn't be this cold!" A small pout. "At least not yet."

Inyri rolls her eyes at him very dramatically. "If you don't like cold, go back to Coruscant. It's warmer there. Never snows. I hear it snows here."

"It snows at the caps. At least that's what Asyr told me once."

He grins a little. "Never really seen a lot of snow. Might be nice."

"Well that's the caps. And I don't think it's real." Inyri says, the skin around her eyes pinching slightly at the mention of Asyr. She nods slowly. "Snow would be nice. And sweaters. And ice skating!"

Inyri beams. "I love ice skating."

He shakes his head. "I've never been."

"They have a rink on Coruscant." Inyri smiles. "It's a lot of fun. If the lake freezes, I'll teach you?"

If she's still here.

He grins. "I'd really like that, Inyri. It would be fun."

"Great." Inyri grins. Something they can do without them fighting. Hopefully. "It'll be...fun."

The grin fades slightly as she picks at her book.

Hey, they're not fighting now!

"Did you have a lot of snow growing up?"

For once.

"Nope. Kessel's a dustbowl, Gavin, remember? Not that much different from Tatooine 'cept it's red." Inyri slumps in her chair slightly.

He blushes a slight red. "Yeah, I remember. But you talk like you've been around a lot of winter."

"Winter vacations with my aunts on Corellia." Inyri grins mischeviously. "It snows there. But we'd only go once every two years."

"More than I ever got. Must've been fun."

"It was. 'Cept my brother liked to throw huge snowballs and 'Jayne and I. Not fair." Pouty face!

He chuckles, trying hard not to smile brightly at the pouty face. "Why didn't you get him back?"

"I was six." Inyri smiles tightly. "He was twelve. I was terrified of him."

"What about Lujayne?"

"She was seven. Not much help. Scrawny little thing. Thinner than me." Inyri shakes her head.

He chuckles again. "Come on, it was two against one!"

"Johan's scary!" Inyri wibbles at him. WIBBLES I SAY! WIBBLES! "And my other sisters were against us too! We were the youngest. And most vernerable."

Pitiful WIBBLES!

Gavin reaches out to place a hand on top of her's. "Aww," he grins at her, "was it really that bad?"

"Worse. I have battle wounds, Gavin! Battle wounds!" She's getting giggly. And flirty as she turns her hand to hold his. But she won't try anything.

The Mun Is Watching Her.

Gavin gives her hand a small squeeze. "I didn't know you can get battle wounds from snow."

It's very teasing the way he says it.

"Snow covered rocks." Inyri says sadly. "Hurt so bad."

Gavin frowns. "That is mean. Like something Biggs and some of my older siblings would have pulled."

Inyri nods, sighing very melodramtically. "Rough childhoods, the both of us. Comes with too many siblings."

"But I liked it. Wouldn't trade a moment, or a person."

Inyri drifts for a moment. "I wouldn't trade a family member. Not even my mother, whom I can't stand. I'd trade the homeworld though."

He nods thoughtfully. "Yeah, Tatooine wasn't that interesting, but I'd rather live there than Kessel."

Inyri nods thoughtfully. "Unless you like criminals and drugs, you shouldn't be there."

Which doesn't say anything about how she shouldn't have been there. Because she used to like those things.

"It couldn't be an easy place to grow up."

"No. It wasn't. Tatooine was probably better." Inyri says bleakly.

"It wasn't the bright center to the galaxy, but it was home."

"Well, at least it felt that way, right? The feeling and illusion of home?" Inyri taps her fingers along his hand.

Milliways feels like home.

"It wasn't an illusion," Gavin answers sincerely, trying not to flinch at the feel of her fingers on his hand. "It was home."

She nods softly, pulling her hand away from his, and propping her head up with it. "Nice..."

A quiet moment passes between them. "Where's home now?"

He shrugs, looking downward as he thinks it over. "I don't know."

It wouldn't be Coruscant. No Asyr.

It wouldn't be Tatooine. He left that home long ago.

And it wouldn't be Milliways, would it? Nothing there for him?

"Well, wherever I am, you're always welcome." She smiles brightly at him.

He returns that smile with one of his own. "I think I'd like that."

Inyri's still grinning at him, it actually reaching her eyes for once. That made it sound so permenant.

What was "it", though?

For now, friendship seemed alright. For once.
