Belgarath is in the bar, sitting at a booth and looking a little subdued. After the fight with Garion a couple of days ago, he's been out in the forest, living as a wolf as a way to ease the ache he feels for his wife.
But living off bunnies loses its appeal eventually and he knew there were things that needed to be fixed. Hence, Belgarath, staring into a tankard of ale.

she gets herslef under control, "I often find people trying to kill me, so I train to make sure that I'm better than they are. Gimli is nice, and I haven't scene anyone that can match his skill with an axe."

Eventually, however, he can't wait anymore so he puts down the armor and takes a seat beside Belgarath. He says nothing, of course, but he orders himself some tea and sips it gingerly.

He sips at his tea again. It's quiet for a time, as he looks at the old man. Sometimes it struck him that his grandfather was old. It was all very well to talk about how he was thousands of years old, but sometimes he was very good at covering the fact that he'd lived through each year just like anyone else did. This was one of those times.
And at the same time it struck him just how much he loved the old man beside him. He was a cranky as he like, a scoundrel and rascal and a brilliant friend, but he was also his Grandfather and sometimes the very thought of that almost brought him to tears.
He doesn't say any of this, but perhaps his posture is a little more open, a little less nervous and a little more prepared to just...fix things.

'You did a good job with Torak. I was proud.'

"There's no one I'd rather have for a Grandfather. I'm proud to be your grandson...even if I do have a tendency to screw up monumentally."

He finally lifts his head.

"No one is as old as you are."
There's a bit of mischief in his eyes as he nudges the old man gently.
"Though, of course, no one is as wise either."

"And yes, I've met people older, but none wiser. Shame it doesn't run in the family."
He's smiling though. It's only a joke.
