Mun should be doing other things, like her audio project, cleaning her room, or, most importantly, eating. Instead, she is throwing Jed in the bar.

Ah, well. Come bother the "dramatic critic."

Amanda sees a new and inviting face s she approaches, "Hello"

"Why, hello lovely lady. What brings you to a strange place like this?"

Never let it be said that Jed Leland ever lets an opportunity to greet a nice lady pass.

She gives him a smile, "The food, the drink, and especially the delightful company." she gracefully and delicately extends herhand, "Amanda"

"Jed Leland," he says, shaking her hand in return. "I hear the food here is delicious. Haven't tried any, myself."

"Well then we must rectify that. What is your favorite dish?"

He thinks. "I'm partial to fillet mignon."

Amadna considers, "Lady bar can I please have two filet mignon's with steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. As well as some red wine."

They appear as requested, one in front of Amanda and the other in front of Jed.

"You know, I don't think I'll ever get used to that," he says, smiling.

She looks at him and smiles, "Yes you will."

She motions to him, "So, what do you think?"

"I like."

He digs his fork and cuts his knife into the steak, removing a small square and popping it into his mouth.

He's very impressed.

"So who's the chef here?"

"As far as I know, Lady Bar." she gently rubs the top of the bar.

She takes a few bites of her own steak. It came medium rare ~~Just how her mun likes it~~.

"Where abouts are you from, Mr. Leland?"

"Oh, here and there. I'm mostly stationed in Chicago, but, being the esteemed journalist I am, I travel around a lot."

"Journalist, what establishment do you write for? And in what time period?"

"The Inquirer. The late 1800's."

[ ooc: whee, retconning...he's in New York, not Chicago! ]

"Oh really, What year presisely?"

Amanda just happen to be in New York in the late 1800's

And the mun pulls a date out of thin air...

"1896, to be exact."

"So what do you think of the workers trying to unionize?"

Amanda was in New York at that time.

"The Inquirer supports the union. We think the rights of the common man have been ignored too long for the concerns of the major factories and businesses."

As for Jed, well, he doesn't really have an opinion on much of anything *serious* except the integrity of the newspaper.

Amanda gives an approving nod.

She gives him a look, "What is it that you report on for the Inquirer?"

"I'm a dramatic critic, although I'm very close to the chief editor of the paper."

"Really? And what is the best thing you've seen?" she scoots up in her chair in anticipation.

"Haven't made up my mind yet. I like them all."

"How diplomatic." she grins

And starts eating some of her vegetables.

"Now I've spent all this time telling you about myself, but you haven't given me one hint as to who you are. Besides your name, of course." He grins.

She grins, "What is it that you would like to know?"

"Anything you'd like to tell me."

[ ooc: gotta go take a shower...be back in a bit. ]

"That would really all depend on hwat you're intereted in knowing, Mr. Leland."

She is enjoying the little cat and mouse game a little too much.

"Well, are you married?"

She sits back and crosses her legs, "No I'm not, You?"

"Haven't found the right lady yet. There's so many to choose from!"

Shre laughs, "Is that so?"

"There's thousands of them in New York City alone. I won't even discuss how many there are in the world!"

"Considering I've traveled the world many times over I think I have a pretty good picture. And how many of these thousands of lovely ladies have you courted?"

"The number varies each month."

"Do you think yourself charming and desirable to women?"

"It's not a matter of what I think, is it? It's what they think."

Interesting reply.

"And what is it you think of them?"

"I think all the world of them."

"And what is your favorite thing about them?"

This amuses her immensly. SHe has managed to turn the conversation back to focusing on him.

[OOC: I am going to have to run for the night in about 30 min.]

And Mr. Leland doesn't mind at all.

"Their unparalleled beauty, for starters."

[ ooc: it's all good :) ]

"And what do you consider beautiful?"

"It's...hard to say. I recognize beauty when I see it. Take yourself for example. You don't look anything like my last companion but you're beautiful in your own way. Why, I'd be blind if I didn't think you were pretty."

She smiles and takes another bit of her food.

"Such a flatterer. Is beauty all you look for in a companion?"
She laughs for a moment thinking about the drink.

"Is there anything else I should be looking for?"

Years later, when he experienced the horror of Susan Alexander Kane, Jed Leland would learn a valuable lesson in finding a companion who was both pretty and talented.

Amanda finishes her food.

"Some of the most beautiful women can be the most dangerous and the most vapid." Amanda stands, "Perhaps I can educate you further at a later date, but at the moment I have things to do."

"Ah, I didn't mean any offence. But I do look forward to, ah, seeing you again."
