Sikozu is sitting at a table, with many many books strewen about. Some are closed, some are open and she is rifling through one after the other at a rather quick pace.

Come ask what's so interesting.

"Still bound?" Aeryn smiled sweetly. Completely innocent, see!

"You haven't tried?" Lookit, mouth hanging open, confusion.

"I got that part you insufferable tralk." Aeryn said through clenched teeth.

"I meant why?"

"Or maybe you should listen better." She replied stubbornly.

"Most people bound here don't want to be."

"Or you'll be stuck here, trying futilely like everyone else."

"You can't get out if Bar doesn't want it, trust me."

"Sorry, she doesn't do those."

Coming from a universe devoid of nonhuman aliens never mind the Tleilax, Paul is intrigued by the redhaired being at a nearby table who looks human, but doesn't feel like it. In his haggard state, he can't help but stare, a failing not fit for an Emperor.

Paul's own, still blue-in-blue, regardless of his losing the Spice, meet hers as coolly as he can manage. As much as he's interested in her, he's interested in her books. Not yet rising, he takes the plunge.

"My Lady, if I may ask, what are you reading?"

He's not schooled on ancient Earth biology or languages, but the fact that there are books here about the almost mythical place is enough in itself to gain his full attention.

"Vampires. Hmm. I believe we had on my home planet a species of bat with that name." He rises. "Do you mind if I join you?"

[identity profile] mouse-shadow.livejournal.com 2005-10-21 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Paul bows slightly, placing his wineglass gingerly between two of the irregularly stacked books, and sits.

"Bats are small, flying mammals. Most eat fruit or insects, but Vampires are known for living off of the blood of cattle."

Then, realizing his rudeness,

"Forgive me, would you like a glass of wine? My planet has been gone now for millennia at least, but somehow this establishment retains some of its finest vintages."

"Caladan. We also produce some fine teas; please allow me." Waving over a conveniently wandering waitrat.

"By the way, my name's Paul. Might I say, you have the most striking features. Where are you from?"

Paul knows about scattered peoples, and can imagine what 'Scarran controlled' implies.

"So, you are a wanderer. There are worse ways to begin a life." Like having your father assassinated. "Still, that is only a beginning. By your studies, I sense that you are a woman who likes to move forward rather than merely stay moving."
