After a two month long absence, he's back.

They say curiousity killed the cat. Let's hope the same isn't true of bounty hunters.

~~Hey padre,~~ "Nice hat."

He's at the bar, sipping on a shake.

"Thanks, mister...?"

He holds out a hand.

"Garion, though I'd thought we'd...no, you look a great deal like him, but you're not the gentleman from the other day outside."

He smiles.

"Garion, then. A pleasure to meet you."

"Yeah, I got that a lot the last time I was here."

He's just lucky Lilly and Raven aren't around.

"Brisco County, Jr. Nice to meet you."

He shrugs.

"Sorry, but the resemblance is uncanny. But it's nice to meet you, Goodman County. Obviously not your first time, but your first time in some time?"

"Yeah. It's been a few months."

He laughs.

"For you or here?"

"Both, I think."

Someone still needs to explain the concept of Millitime to him.

He nods.

"I left for about seven years and here, only a day passed. That's why I ask."

Well, that'll really throw off your equilibrium.

"... Woah. That happen often?"

He laughs and shakes his head.

"I wasn't able to leave before that. I spent almost eight months here without being able to go home, but then I did what I was supposed to do and then I got to go home."

"That's... really strange."

Understatement of the century.

He just peers at Brisco, almost as if to ask if he was kidding.

What about me ISN'T strange, he wondered to himself.

One Sheila.

Blinking.

A lot.

"Pardon me," she says a bit more harshly than, perhaps, she should, "but is that you, sir County, or ..."

Or is there a third lookalike, perhaps? Since he'd not be Ash.

"Yes, it is."

He notes her tone of voice with some concern.

"Is there a problem?"

"... no. Oh, no, it's -- it's quite fine."

She's just having a significant difficulty looking at him, but that's perfectly normal!

Yeah right. He doesn't want to pry, though.

"You sure?"

"No."

She's not a very good liar.

"If you need to talk about it, I've been told I'm a good listener."

"Well. I -- my -- the father of my child. Ash. Looks like you. Gone and left, and we'd not be knowing where it is he ended up."

If Raven couldn't place him ...

"Wrong world, probably."

"...Oh. I'm sorry."

It sounds trite to him as soon as he says it, but there's not much else to say.

"Most people," Sheila answers, after biting her lip, "tend to be."

After a pause, "Certainly not your fault."

"Can't be easy on you."

He avoids her eyes. Looking at him most probably doesn't help.
