*A pure white cat with unnaturally bright green eyes rubs up against her ankles.*

"Oh! Hello kitty! What's your name?" She reaches down to scritch the kitty on the head."

*The cat purrs and pushes his head up against her scritching hand.*

Call me Yrael. And you are?

Sally starts. "Oh- Erm. Hello Yrael! I'm Sally." Well, technically, kitties don't talk in Sally's world, but hey, Yrael could be a Cat Creature.

"You're very beautiful. May I pick you up?"

*He inclines his white-furred head, smiling slightly.* A pleasure to meet you, Sally.

Of course, as long as that wonderful scritching continues.

"Certainly!" She picks him up and places him gently in her lap.

"And it's a pleasure to meet you as well Yrael, I've never met a cat who has given himself his own name before. I've got a cat at home, he's black all over, with yellow eyes, and he doesn't talk, but he's much the same as yourself, he likes simply to be itched when he needs a good itching."

I am merely shaped like a cat, really. It is a familiar shape, and a comfortable one.

*He purrs against her.* And people give wonderful scritches to get rid of itches.

"Oh! Well, that makes sense. If I could, I would turn into a cat. Cats are lovely creatures. So you're a different sort of creature then. Are you a mannish creature or a.." Sally is careful to not use 'monsterish' creature, for some here have led her to believe that sometimes, man and monster are one and the same.

"Well, what sort of creature are you when you're not a cat? If you don't mind telling me." Sally rubs the side of his muzzle down his neck gently.

*He leans into her hand, purring loudly.* I sometimes walk in the form of a man, though it is not my true shape, either. I am not allowed to show my true shape in the bar unless in dire need.

"Ooooh!" Sally looks away in thought, gently scritching his back now.

"That's fascinating! But I do hope you don't have to de-cat yourself often then, if you only change in dire circumstances."

*He stretches.* I take on human shape whenever I want. It is no big deal. It is my true shape that I do not show unless in dire need. My true shape is not human shape.

"I- yes, well." Sally quietly contemplates and scritches some more.

"How long have you been here Yrael?"

*He curls up in her lap, purring.* Sixteen months in ten days, as time is counted in the bar.

"Oh.. so that's why that girl from the other night thinks it's Halloween! Time is different here! It's past Halloween here, yes? When I came here, it was before Halloween in my world."

Yes. Many patrons find that time here runs differently than it does in their home world. Halloween was four days ago, here.

Sally nods. "This place is very unique. With all the different sorts, you know, all the different creatures, it's like my home. But then there are people here! I've never seen a human before."

Humans can be... interesting. There are many here, but there are many more different kinds of creatures other than humans, as well. Milliways connects to all worlds, so there are unlimited possibilities of who or what might come in.

"Right! I've met- I don't think I found out exactly what he was- his name was Biff and he certainly looked human. He mentioned that some humans are monsters in disguise. I suppose that makes sense, I've heard stories of some horrible humans acting like Oogey Boogey."

Humans who are really Monsters in what way? And what constitutes as acting like Oogey Boogey?

*He's spent too long as a cat. Forgive the curiosity.*

"Well, I think he meant humans who are mean to other humans. There are enough monsters out there that are mean to humans, there's no need for them to act that way to eachother."

She rubs his legs gently. "You've never heard of Oogey Boogey? Well, Oogey Boogey.." She tilts her head, thinking.

"Oogey Boogey is the shadow on the moon, the one who gives you nightmares."

Nice and mean are relative.

*Yrael frowns slightly.* ... I do not believe his is, in the world from which I come. There, the shadows on the moon are craters caused by things hitting the moon very hard, and dreams and nightmares come from Lord Dream.

"Oh." Sally bites her lip and strokes Yrael's back again.

"And the moon here? Is it the same as in your world?"

*He purrs.* The moon here is not the same moon as in my world. The moon here, and the lake area and forest and stars over the lake area, they were all created by my friend, Peter. He made them for the first head Barman, here.

Sally ohs and aws appropriately.

"But what's a barman?" Now it is Sally's turn to be curious.

The Head Barman is the main manager of the bar. He is linked to Bar through a spell which allows her to serve on her own. He is the one to go to with any problems or questions.

Red hair. Wearing black.

"Oh! Okay. And he's a human-looking person?"

She scritches just behind Yrael's ears.

"Please forgive me if I'm being annoying, I'm not used to this sort of thing. Usually I make food and drink for the Doctor myself. So the Bar can serve us with food and drink? I had noticed some people asking for more than just food and drink, would it be okay if I were to ask for a sewing machine?"

He is human, yes. *He presses his head firmly against her hand, purring loudly.*

Bar gave me my violin, so I believe she could give you a sewing machine, yes. You would, however, have to pay for it. Its price would be added to your tab.

"Oh! And- does Bar accept all sorts of payment? Because we use a barter sort of system in Halloween Town, and the humans use.. money? I think it's called something different in a few different places."

It takes barter, yes. Any currency or payment systems accepted in the worlds to which the bar is connected are accepted here.

*He nudges her hand, purring loudly.*

She scritches his muzzle again and ponders this.

"And the rooms are up those stairs, I followed someone up there earlier, does everyone always get a room? This place must be very powerful to be able to expand to fit all of the travelers from all the worlds out there."

*He purrs into her hand, his whiskers tickling.*

Ask Bar for a room key, and she will provide. The key she gives will have a room number on it. Upstairs, you find the door with that number, and the key will open that room to you.

Milliways is quite a magically powerful place, yes.

Sally giggles, she can feel even if she can't bleed.

"Okay, I'll do that in a moment." She claps a hand to Yrael's back gently.

"Would you like anything to eat or drink? I won't be so forward as to assume you'd like a saucer of milk!" She smiles softly.

*He arches his back under her hand.* Some fresh sunperch would not go amiss. Or some tea.

Sally's inner servant comes out. "Would you like me to carry you to the Bar, or would you like to stay here and let me bring it back to you?"

*He looks up at her, then leaps lightly onto her shoulder. He lies down across her shoulders like a foxfur, and nuzzles her ear, purring.*

Carrying would be fine, thank you.

Sally gasps lightly. "Oh!" She nods though and heads to the Bar.

"Bar, please, if we could have something to eat? A sunperch and a cup of tea for Yrael here. And I would like a room key?"

The sunperch, tea and key appear before Sally and she pockets the key after taking a look.

*He jumps down to the bar and heads straight for the sunperch. Nummy. Glutton!not!cat!*
