Looky that! It's a Charlie, guitar and everything. His mun must be having problems with her NaNovel.

He heard a song a few times on the radio the last time he went vistin', and now he's giving it a whirl.

Love of mine some day you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles brusied by a lady in black
And I held my toungue as she told me
"Son fear is the heart of love"
So I never went back

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
It's nothing to cry about
Cause we'll hold each other soon
The blackest of rooms

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark

He sings quietly, at a table back near the observation window.

Ella hears music and follows it until she reaches Charlie.

"That's really pretty."

[identity profile] disobedientgirl.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Ella takes his hand, a bit hesitantly.

"I'm Ella."

[identity profile] disobedientgirl.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
"Frell, in the land of Kyrria, during King Jerrod's reign," she rattles off.

"What about you?"

She smiles, waiting for the inevitable response- no one has ever heard of Frell.

[identity profile] disobedientgirl.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
Ella grins.

"If it makes you feel better, I've never heard of England either.

I think pretty much everyone here comes from somewhere I've never heard of.
But no one has told me anything yet that would want me to be in their world as apposed to Frell. For instance, I've yet to find someone who has centaurs in their world. I would hate a world without centaurs."

[identity profile] disobedientgirl.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
Ella smiles.

"But centaurs are so wonderful! Especially to talk to when you're upset because they look human enough to understand you while they're listening. But when you look into their eyes, they're blank, and you know that they can't understand at all."

[identity profile] disobedientgirl.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ella laughs.

"Well, I don't have alot of people to talk to, not many friends, so I guess I found it nice to be able to talk to someone.
Although I think talking to a baby would be much more appealing."

[identity profile] disobedientgirl.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Awwww. I'd like to meet him sometime. I bet you're a good dad."

Over at the bar, Dianne spots Charlie and lights up at the sight of a familiar face. She'd been hoping for Liam, but this works - he might have news of his brother at least. She goes over and takes a chair near him, waiting while he sings and her mun racks her brains trying to figure out if they ever actually met or not, because it's been a while.

[identity profile] drama-coach.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Dianne smiles back, unconsciously bobbing her head in time to the music.

Whew, mun would have been sad if she had forgotten that, thanks.

[identity profile] drama-coach.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
Dianne shakes her head. "No, it's been a while, but I've been here before. I'm a friend of Liam's, actually, Dianne Davis." *She holds out a hand to shake.

[identity profile] drama-coach.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
She laughs. "God, yes. Even if I hadn't seen you around a couple times - a couple times before, I'd recognize you just from listening to Liam."

[identity profile] drama-coach.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Dianne nods. "Just around a couple times, singing or talking" - and dead in the doorway, and oh, there was your funeral, which had pictures, anyway - "never seemed to get over to say hello, though." Slight self-conscious laugh. It's not, actually, entirely unlike trying to explain to people back home where she had been without involving the phrase 'restaurant at the end of the universe.'

[identity profile] drama-coach.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
"Indeed," Dianne grins. "It was practically a running joke with Liam and I as to whether I'd ever actually meet you or not.

"School - how old is Megan now?"
