There is one (1) cranky-looking vampire hunter curled up (as much as one can with five months of fetus, anyway) on a couch, half-eaten dinner on the floor beside her.

She's pretending to be studying an English primer, but seems to be paying more attention to the fire. Or, more accurately, the fire is a convenient glare target while she pays attention to what's inside her brain.

She silently glided up behind the couch and stroked a lock of loose hair from Sonia's forehead. "Missed you," she said, her voice warm with affection.

There's a jump, and she nearly pops her neck looking around.

And then relaxation. "Mina..." She manages a half-smile. "Yeah... me too."

She walks around to sit beside her on the couch. "How was your trip home?" She searched Sonia's face with concern. She'd been against her going back.

She shrugs. "Buncha ghosts. Zombies. Nothin' really unusual. Pretty quiet, since he's gone..."

"Safe, far as I know."

She's no Anthy, but she's trying to be evasive.

"Treated you poorly again?"

"I just stayed in the forest. Most of them stayed in their houses. Just like old times," she adds with ironic nostaliga. "Guess I'm still good for something, two days out of the year."

She gently pulled her into a hug. "Oh, Sonia ... don't let ignorant peasants dictate your self worth to you ..."

"Ain't them. Not just, anyway," she mutters, fingers curling into Mina's bodice, "I'm just... I dunno... can't do nothin'. Only thing I was ever any good at, I already done..."

She gently rubs her cheek against Sonia's. "There must be other creatures you can hunt. Or you can learn other things to be good at."

"Way it sounds, everywhere else it's all full of monsters bein' people 'stead of monsters... and then they got folks to deal with it already." She sighs.

"Back home, at least I felt like I was doin' somethin' good. Here, 'slike I'm the monster."

She pulls back, frowning slightly. "What? Says who?"

Technically, it isn't possible to go from reclining in a couch to awkwardly kneeling on the floor in an instant. But Sonia pushes it.

She relaxes slightly as she notices the face.

"Oh. Um. Hi." She kind of flops into a sitting position. "...been a while."

"Longer for me. Over one year passed in my world." She sits down. "How are you?"

"A year, huh?" She looks down at her belly.

"With child. Fat. Clumsy. Kinda useless. You?"

"You are not fat, and far from useless." A small smile. "I am... well."

"Hey, who's the one with the giant belly here?" she shoots back.

"And why ain't I useless?"

"because you are not." A smile, slippoing arms around her in a siterly, no, motherly hug. Serens is... warm.

There's a sort of token resistance, but, y'know, hugs are better than loneliness. A lot better.

"Can't do nothin'," she posits, "Only thing I'm any good at, I already done."

She snorts. "Right. When I'm busy makin' half the people here hate me just by bein' around. While I got this... thing in me," she adds, squinting at her belly.

"I don't want a new life!" she groans, "What do I know about babies?! I can't even get people I'm protectin' to like me, and I'm supposed to have a child?!"
What she's doing now? Not Crying. It may look that way, but, um, it's not. Just trust her on this one.
