Mystina yawned as she made her entrance from her room. She stretched her arms behind her head, and gave a quick glance about. She was still sleepy, despite how she was asleep for most of the day. In fact she could have very well stayed in bed, though that would get dull very quick. As much as she was a fan of escaping reality through dreams, she was also too practicle to waste her time lounging about all day. That certainly wouldn't get anything accomplished. That... and she was hungry.
Her leather bound book was with her again, but then after she spend half the night writting in it it would be quite a shame for her to lose it now. She passed the windows, and paused briefly to glance to the scenery of the end of the world. A small smirk, "So that's what ragnarok looks like." Well not quite, but it was her own private joke.
The young sorceress shook her head and turned to the bar. Ah yes, food. She aproached it and sat down at an empty seat, crossing her legs. She was dressed in the same decorative violet top and brown leather skirt as the day before-- simply because she had no other clothes with her. She placed her book down before her and gave a small thought on what she'd like to eat. It's been a while since she was hungry really.

Mysty! Great to see you again. Can I get you anything?

"I'm not sure. I'm starving, haven't ate anything in ages it seems. I suppose now that I'm alive again it's a bit useful eh?" She smirks. She wasn't much exagerating there either. "What do you even serve here... anything good?" Anything you recommand? is the better question though.

Well, the nightly specials are always good. I personally like some of the chicken dishes. It really depends on what you like. The Bar can make about anything, really and it's all really good.

"Chicken sounds lovely. How about a grilled chicken platter then, and some wine again. It really was good yesterday. Then again I think pretty much anything would be good right about now." She paused as her stomach growled and gave a small flat look.
"Hungry, tired... yes I'm definatly alive."

Yes, one can always tell one's living state by hunger. So, how was your night last night? Did you sleep well?

"If I could stay asleep forever and not worry about such things as what I might miss, it would be quite nice. I think I was asleep most of the day." She chuckles herself. "I did actually. Then again I also spend half the night looking over my old writtings and added a journal entry. Horribly childish, but I don't think I like forgetting things." In fact she hated it, she valued her memory very much.

*Val grins, pulling a notebook out of a pocket of her apron. It's obviously well written-in, and dog-eared. Inside are notes about everyone in the bar, interspersed with an essay or two on the nature of something or another in the bar.*
I have to admit that I do somthing similar myself. The bar keeps making certain I have enough paper and pens. I don't like forgetting my observations either, that's why I carry my notebook even when I'm on duty.

That reminded Mysty that she needed a job. Well damn. And Mysty was rather picky about what she did with her time. But she decided she would worry about that later. At worse she can sell some of her jewelry os payment.
But pausing in her eating, she looked to the notebook. "Certainly lighter then my spell book. I really need to make it more compact. It's getting awfully annoying to carry. But hey it's always good to write down little things I think. Especially here... observations of this place alone look like they could fit a few books."

Well, no one really knows who owns this place. The Landlord, as everyon calls him, communicates mainly by letter, but that's only in a complete and total emoergency. We're mainly self-sufficent. Bernard's the head barman, and he does the hiring. My pay goes on my tab. *She waves a hand to where the tab is, and there Valentine Wiggin can be seen, with a respectable positive number* I generally use it to pay off my brothers' tabs, as they're both bound as well, and get some things for people. I don't really need much myself.
I'm rather proud of my notebook, actually. I'm on my third one in about a month and a half here. Everyone I've talked to has at least a page, and in most cases much more. I'm working right now on an essay of some general thought about the Bar, conventional wisdom, and prevailing thought as to how we all got here.

"By letter?" She arches a brow, "Are you sure he even exists then? Certainly a unique way to run an establishment." She looked up to the tab then, her own must have already gotten a bit from the wine, food and the room. "That reminds me, just what sort of currency is accepted here? With such a varied number of people from different realms... must be hard to keep money straight." Just a logical observation on her part.
She looked to the notebook however and blinked. "My, I'd like to read some of those essays sometime. I've been meaning to write a paper on some of my own theories-- but first I thought perhaps getting my thoughts in order would help. Forgetting a few centuries worth of time is just -slightly- unpleasant." Well she had some ideas on that too though, not seeming too upset about it.
"What are you gonna do with those notebooks-- Keep them as personal research or write a book or what?"

*She shrugs a bit, holding out the notebook to Mysty*
Here. This one's almost done. Feel free to take it and read it. I don't mind people reading them. I've already shown them to a couple people. Writing out what one is thinking about is always useful, really, as forgetting one's thoughts is even worse.
*Her eyes sparkle*
I think I'm going to write -something- with them, but I'm not sure if it's going to be a long essay or a book.

She finished her food, seeming quite pleased with it. Then she fully turned to Val, and looked to the notebook. She extended her hand to take it. "Thank you, Val. I was hoping I'd find some interesting reading around here. I didn't suppose there was a library or anything close to it. But then, it's independent research from here on for me."
She held up the notebook a moment, "So sources as this are best. Get some more insight on this place. You've been here longer afterall. Just how long have you been here anyway?" Mysty asked as she looked to the notebook and made to flip through it a bit, looking quite interested. "Several books I'd think-- or one -very- long essay."
no subject
*Her eyes sparkle, but she doesn't elaborate*
Hey, it's not a problem. When you finish that one, I'll be happy to lend you the prior two. No, I'm not an entire library, but I do have a few interesting things up my sleeve. In my opinion, it's always wonderful to understand about where one is.
I've been here about a month and a half, actually. Yes, I know that's a lot of information for that time, but I like to understand the people I'm dealing with.

"I'll be sure to take care of it. Understanding your surrounding is quite important. But then I live on the principle that knowledge is power. Knowing what the things around are like is very useful."
She grinned, pausing to take a sip of her wine. "Oh there's such a thing as too much. My, with your way of thinking, I'm surprised you haven't learned a number of magics by now." She paused again. "I should teach you sometimes. I'm a pretty good teacher, I used to tutor some of the students at the academy in research all the time." And again-- quite proud of what she's good at.

I would love to learn some spells sometime. *her eyes sparkle* Perhaps sometime soon, I'll take a break and we can go hide outside or in an empty room, and you can teach me a few things.
*She looks rather eager, but looks aorund the bar, and sighs*
I'm so sorry, Mysty, but it seems that the bar got full agian when I wasn't looking. I shall come back around later, neh?
[ooc: I -hate- bedtime. :(]
