Teenager in the bar. Just an ordinary teenager from California, really.

Right now, however, she resembles nothing so much as a bundle of oversized black clothing that just so happens to have a face. She's curled up in a chair by the fireplace, and she's asleep, with the remnants of tears on her face and clutching a note in her hand. Her school bag is by her feet.

Her makeup might have gotten a little messy from crying. She wears too much of it anyway.

Angela opens her eyes and startles a little. She looks up. "Hi, Tony." She rubs her eyes, making whatever makeup there is even messier. She seems to know this, and swipes a finger under each eye to try to neaten it up a little.

"Hey. Ah, you hungry?"

Angela shrugs. "Not really." Pause. "But I probably should have something."

"Feel like some soup?"

"That will be fine, I think." She sighs. "Mom and Dad left."

"Yeah. I got their notes." Pause. "How are you feeling?"

"Tired." Angela gets up from her chair and stretches a little bit. "Sad. Scared."

She looks around. "It was okay when they were right down the hall, but..."

Tony nodded and looked behind him, scouting for a good booth to sit at. "I understand. C'mon, let's take a seat."

Jack turns from receiving Chase's note (http://www.livejournal.com/community/milliways_bar/9467483.html?#cutid1) to see a teenarger in a familiar jacket curled up by the fireplace.

He heads over, placing his hand on her shoulder as he reaches her side.

"Hey, sweetheart," he says softly.

She looks up. "Hi, Grampa. Mom and Dad left, did you know?" She blinks up blearily at him.

He nods. "Yeah, I got their notes. How are you doing?" he says, looking at her with some concern.

"'M okay. I mean, it isn't like I've never left home without them before or anything."

Yeah, family gets the brave face. Even Grampa.

Still, she sniffles a bit. She can't hide much when half her makeup is gone from tears.

"Yeah, but somehow I doubt they were leaving you in a bar at the end of the universe with your crazy grandfather and his certifiable friends," he says, givng her a kiss on the top of her head.

This gets a little smile from Angela. "You're not crazy, Grampa." She sighs.

"You obviously havne't been around here long enough, then," he said, "Just ask anyone about the time Tony and I decided to try and tackle a werewolf."

He sobers a bit, squeezing her shoulder. "But anyway, it doesn't exactly look like you're okay."

"A...werewolf?" Angela says nervously.

Angela doesn't know how long her parents will be gone, or how long she'll be here...and she doesn't feel like hiding her feelings from her grandfather.

"I'm just scared. What if they don't come back?"

Michelle didn't really get a chance to talk to Angela at Thanksgiving, so when she sees her sleeping in the bar she's not sure if she should interrupt her.

At least, until she remembers how Tony felt about the note and how much worse it must be for Angela.

Angela blinks her eyes open and looks up. "Hi, Michelle."

"Hey," she says a little awkwardly and takes a seat near her. "Fell asleep studying?"

"Not really. Mom and Dad left. I guess I fell asleep after Dad said good bye," she says, wiping under her eyes carefully.

"Chase left too?" This, Michelle didn't know.

"Yeah. To help Mom. He was worried about her."

And I'm a big girl now.

Michelle isn't sure that makes much sense, since Chase and Kim weren't from the same time, but she understands the feeling.

"Yeah, some people are worried about her...but they're going to be okay."

Angela nods. "It's good you're here with Tony. I don't think he could do without you."
