(no subject)

There's a lupa lounging comfortbly inna booth. There is a burger and a plate of cheese fries in front of her. As well as a glass with a dark liquid in it. Run & Coke if ya wanna know.

She's reading a book while she eats, Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy.

Come poke the werewolf and see if she bites.

[OOC: Mun is back.]

Contrary to popular opinion, vampires (from Vachon's world, at least) are capable of blushing if they've enough blood in their systems. So it is just possible that there's a hint of color to Vachon's cheeks at the compliment.

"Well, I've shown you mine. You'll have to show me yours sometime. Which actually brings up a question, if you don't mind the prying. The whole 'full moon' thing -- is that just myth or what?"

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
And oh how he loves women who can cause him to do it.

Vachon favors her with another of those boyish smiles. "Another time, then. I'll just have to hold you to that."

He listens to her description, fascination obvious in his eyes. This is something completely new to him, and as such, completely captures his attention.

"And are you still conscious of yourself as a wolf? Do you still have what might be called 'human' thoughts? Or is the wolf completely a creature of instinct, like a mundane wolf might be?"

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
He's probably not aware of it on a conscious level. But somewhere beneath the surface, there's a definite sensation of beast calling to beast: a trace feeling of racial memory, perhaps, that might be summed up as a fight-flight-or-fuck instinct.

It's not entirely unlike the feeling he himself inspires as he imposes his will on another's mind, hypnotic and seductive. A younger vampire would likely be completely under her power at this point, unable to overcome the pull of the beast within them. An older one, especially a significantly older one like Knight or LaCroix, would be little more than amused by the sensation.

Vachon, on the other hand, is not entirely unaffected, but has enough control to merely be pleased and aroused by the feeling without compromising his thoughts.

"That... must truly be something. It sounds, oh, liberating, I guess is a good word. Does make me wish that the myth about vampires changing into wolves and bats was true in my world."

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, he's not complaining. Not by a long shot.

"The closest I can come is flying," he says off-handedly. "I don't change form for that, but it is pretty freeing, I'll admit."

The other mun will be getting a WoD-style vamp soon which also has the ability, so Vachon can live vicariously.

He laughs at that, getting the gist of her meaning.

"Well, I'll just have to show you sometime. Maybe I can take you for a moonlit cruise over the lake one evening. Just not a full-moonlit one."

World of Darkness -- specifically from Kindred: the Embraced -- similar in canon to Serena, but not quite the same.

[ooc: Slowtime works for me. Vachon's having waaaay too much fun.]

A bit of the gold flashes across his eyes at that idea, and he happily returns her grin.

"I guarantee you won't be disappointed," he says with a touch of a predatory undertone.

He finishes off the second glass, considering her question. "On the whole, no. It gets me by, keeps the beast at bay. But most of what Bar serves is just-past-its-prime donated stuff, so the emotional content is pretty bland. It's hard to generate any sort of appetizing feelings in the Bloodmobile chair."

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 03:52 pm (UTC)(link)
He thinks for a moment. "Yeah, that sounds about right. All of the content, but none of the substance. Like drinking expired grape juice and calling it wine. Unfortunately, I get the feeling that most of the patrons of the bar might not take well to the idea of a little human farm off in the forest. And given that there are at least three Slayers here, I try to play nice."

Beat.

"Most of the time."

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-28 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a throaty chuckle and another flash of fang. "Si, that's the idea."

It isn't really the Slayers that he's worried about running afoul of, necessarily. It's the 800-year-old elder with the overdeveloped sense of conscience who's made it very clear that Vachon is so much cigarette ash if he toes off the line.

Not that it stops him. He's just extra careful to look around first.

The neck view is definitely appreciated, as evidenced by the brief eyebrow raise and the pursing of lips. He's not hungry, thanks to the blood he's already had, but it's a bit like drooling over the dessert cart even though you're stuffed from your meal.

Speaking of which.... The analogy draws his attention back to her question. "As a rule, no, it can't. The body tends to... reject it. Quite forcefully. But in small amounts, it's usually not too bad. Mixing in some wine with the blood, for instance, or a little bit of very rare steak. I've heard of some who have managed to work up something of a tolerance, but I've only met one, and he was a special case."

He says the word 'special' with an undisgused 'rides-the-short-bus' sort of connotation.

Please indulge the mun as he dips ever-so-slightly into fanon.

"Now that we get to an extent, yes. It wouldn't do you much good if you were trying to get plastered or stoned, but we definitely can feel it in a muted sort of way."

And now back to your regularly scheduled canon, kthxbye.

Vachon leans forward, putting his forearms onto his knees, as if sharing a secret. "But it's hardly necessary. We get so much from the blood anyway that it's a rush all by itself. Everything a person is, everything they know, everything they feel, is in every drop of their blood. It's more than just emotion. It's memory, as well. I could drink the blood of a piano player -- just a swallow -- and I could play like him. The effects don't last, of course. A couple of hours, tops. But the pull for new experiences can be very strong. There are even vampires who deal in exotic blood, trading them like fine wines."

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
His voice pitches deeper, thick with passions remembered and hoped for.

"It's bread and water to a starving man. It sustains me, keeps me alive and sane. Nothing more than that."

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 05:07 am (UTC)(link)
"It's possible not to kill, but it's very difficult. Takes enormous control. Fledglings usually can't manage it at all. If I was sufficiently full otherwise, I might be able to manage to stop myself after a few mouthfuls, but it's not a certain thing."

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
He shakes his head sadly. "No, it really doesn't. Mortals as a rule have neither the will to resist the pleasure of the bite nor the strength to fend off a vampire even if they could. And when the beast takes hold, it sure doesn't plan to stop. Another couple hundred years and I might have the necessary control, but right now? Too risky to chance."

[identity profile] sexierwithfins.livejournal.com 2005-11-29 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, he's caught it like the game-winning pass of the Super Bowl.

He leans forward slightly more, blinking those dark brown eyes in the most innocent way possible.

"And do you have any ideas where I might find someone like that?"
