Now, I wouldn't want to be counting any chickens before they'd hatched, but there does appear to be a fae in the bar. To be a little more accurate, he would seem to be sitting on a table in the middle of the room, barefoot and rather deliberately disheveled, swinging his legs and sipping a glass of wine.

There also appear to be a redheaded young thing wandering by with coffee. Shelley sits down at a free table nearby, and smiles wryly up at him.

"Hello. Comfortable up there?"

Redheaded young things are tasty fun. Puck smiles back, brightly. You can hardly tell how sharp his teeth are, really.

"Very much so, I think."

"That's good," she says easily. "All that matters, I suppose."

She sips her coffee thoughtfully.

He raises an eyebrow.

"Is it really?"

"Well, yes," she blinks. "If you are comfy up there, then that's reason enough, isn't it? I mean, unless there's a big reason you should not. Like... skellingtons or something."

No, that is not her first cug of coffee.

"Skellingtons?"

"For example. Things show up, where I come from."

This is nothing to do with Shelley. No sir. No.

"Things?" He takes a politely interested sip of his wine. Don't ask how sipping can be made to imply interest. "Things very much outside the usual sphere of experience?"

"Usually," she says in a cheerfully contradictory manner.

He sticks his tongue out at her.

Just a normal tongue, this time.

That in itself is unusual.

Yes. Because Puck is human, of course. Lalala.

She giggles.

"I'm serious. The strange is common back home. Rather like here, you know?"

Again with the eyebrow-raising.

"Your home is a place such as this one?"

"No," she says seriously.

"But, it's odd. Like with goblins and improbable scientific phenomena, and zombies and things, when there aren't meant to be."

Though to be fair, the last two of those were her.

There also appears to be a petite, black leather clad, red haired, gold skinned alien watching him out of the corner of her eye. Just maybe.

Puck tilts his head to the side, almost birdlike.

She raises an eyebrow at the gesture. "You would not be acquainted with Raven, by chance?"

He grins.

"How clever of you to guess."

She smiles back, a little, and eyes him more carefully.

"Not human, either."

Now he sets down his glass, eyes suddenly yellow as a cat's, and looks her over a bit more carefully.

"Clever, clever."

"Intelligence is a burden my people have to bear." She replies drily.

"How terrible," he says, looking appropriately horrified. "Why not cast it off?"

"Then we would be little more than humans ourseves." She points out, though it's not entirely true. "And we can't have that."

A snort.

"No, no, can't have that."

She's glad someone agrees.

"So, since you are not human, what are you? I am afraid that I cannot tell simply by appearance, or an educated guess."

His tone had been sarcastic, but Puck's about the last person who'd become a mortal if he could.

"Well, you could tell by appearance, most likely," he replies cheerily.

With that, large, batlike wings extend behind him, and his teeth are quite sharp indeed. The air crackles with magic.
