Michael is in the bar, in his uniform, working on a certain speech he doesn't want to make but has to.

He'd welcome distraction.

There is a strange blue person in a strange uniform. His curious mind says that it's time to be social.

"Hello young man."

He glances up absently. "Morning."

He extends is hand, "I am Archimedes."

The old man does seem to be feeling a little awkward at the moment. He is still getting used to this.

"Michael Guerin." He shakes hands briefly.

"May I ask what you are working on?" the old man is standing by the young man as he glances at the paperwork with a strange language written on it.

It's not even in the same alphabet he knows. Or in the Roman alphabet, come to that.

"Speech I've got to write."

"Who are you giving the speech to?" most of his speeches have been given to his collegues and his students. "And from where might you come from?"

"My people. I'm from Antar."

"Where is Antar?" and gesturing to the seat, "Do you mind if I join you?"

"Not on Earth." He sits back, resignedly. "Sure."

Taking the set gratefully as his old legs are tired. "Thank you."

After a moment, "So then you aren't from earth." it was less of a question and more of a statement. "What do you do on Antar?"

"I'm the general in my brother's army."

He nods with a small smile, "That sounds like a good job. I am a mathematician back in Syrcuse. At the moment I am employed by my cousin."

"I was never much good at math."

"I was never much good at comanding armys which works out splendidly I think. We each serve the purpose the Gods put us here to do."

Michael grins wryly. "Nothing to do with the gods."

This is a strange place and he is from a strange place so he doesn't press the issue. Besides if the Gods get angered by him they will have their way.

"What is your speech about?" changing the subject.

...He was really hoping that wouldn't come up. His grin vanishes, and he looks down.

"Dead soldiers."

In the war with the Romans he has lost many friends so he knows that such a thing isn't easy, "That is a very good thing you are doing."

"Yeah. Depends how you see it."

"And I supose it depends on what you have to say about it."

"Guess so."
