Mordred's at his normal table by the front door, carving something.

He might even tell you what it is.

Cywyllog pauses on her way to get more tea at the bar.

"Good evening." She eyes the carving, but chooses not to ask.

"Good evening. Anyone explain to you about the mistletoe yet?"

She blinks.

"Mistletoe?" She looks up. "It is hanging in a few places around the bar. What else is there to explain?"

"You stand, or sit, under it, you get kissed."

"Oh." She thinks for a moment, frowns and repeats softer, "Oh."

"Oh indeed."

She shrugs and shakes her head.

"That is not important, really. I wanted to talk to you. Tell you something." Something she's obviously a little nervous about.

"I'm all ears."

[cywyllog]

"I am going to bring the boys here, for a while, anyway. To see how... everyone adjusts." She watches him carefully.

He is silent for a moment.

"Thought you might."

"I just wanted to let you know in advance. Whenever I can leave, I will likely bring them back soon after."

She pauses. "Would you want to see them at all?"

"I probably shouldn't, but. Yes. I do."

All right." She nods. "We can arrange something then."

"Careful with that knife," Logan says. "You might hurt yourself. Though you're dead, so maybe hurt's not the right word."

His right hand is covered by still-red scars, the kind you get from slamming your fist into a mirror.

"Oh, I can still get hurt. However, I also know what I am doing. Logan."

"Glad to hear it," he says. "Not the hurt part, but the whole knowing what you're doing thing. It doesn't seem to be so common around here."

Mordred glances up.

"Oh?"

"Just a general observation," Logan says, shrugging. "Seems like most people 'round here make stuff up as they go along, only on a grander scale than those not fortunate enough to be in the Bar."

"I'm sure, boyo, that this would all make far sense if I had any idea of what you were refering to..."

"Nothing specific," he says, and that's true enough. He's just chafing a little. "I'm just tired of being treated like a child. Things are different at home."

Not better, mind, just different.

"...well, you're not a child."

Logan makes a face. "In my world, I am," he says. "At 17, I'm not allowed to vote, and certainly not allowed to drink, but that last there are ways around. Here, not so much."

My, someone's whiny tonight. Mun is writing final paper, that must be why...

"Ah. Well, I'm nineteen and ten months. Technically a child, still. Legally, anyway."

Pause.

"Not allowed to drink?"

"But in your time, weren't you of age?" he asks. You'd think rebelling against your father in a big way would qualify you, right?

"No alcohol for anyone under 21, in my where," he says glumly. "And Bernard is firmly adhering to those customs."

"Not legally, no. I could marry, drink, kill and be killed...but I wasn't legally an adult. Celtic custom. And...no one under twenty-one?"

Mordred is staring at him.
