Happy Hour
Whistling cheerfully, George slips behind the bar.
He's got a secret-smile on his face and is in an all-around good mood.
He glances at the Specials Board, then announces:
"Tonight's drinks are Satan's Spawn, Sex on the Beach, Shark's Bite and Smooth Operator.."
"What'll it be?"

Brandy, please.

"Ask and you shall receive."
no subject
Thank you... Are you all right? *pause* Are you not wanting to speak with me?
no subject
He hands her a glass of brandy.
"I'm well enough. I'm hoping to make it back home for Midwinter.."
no subject
She looks at the glass, face slowly going red. It's not embarrassment, but an attempt to hold back frustrated tears.*
I am sorry, George. I know I didn't handle things well.

He smiles a bit as he says this.

*She looks up, confused.*
Adam's... he's wonderful. I think you'd like him, George. Truly. I want... *Slumping, she sips her brandy.* I feel like such a rotten person around you lately.
no subject
He bites his lip.
"... I just want you to be happy."
[Even if that means you're not with me..]
no subject
Maybe if we hadn't come here. If things hadn't changed.
I just want you to be happy, George. And I hate that I make you so damn miserable.
*She takes a deep breath.*
There's a reason you were in that box, George. You're a part of me, just like Jon. But if you needed to walk away, I'd understand. I'd hate it, but I would understand. I wish... I don't know what I wish. I just want you to know how important you are to me.

The crystal rings a little on Bar when she sets it down, and holds out a manicured hand.
no subject
"A pleasure to meet you Elizabeth.. I'm George Cooper."
no subject
She doesn't ask about where he comes from, or when. Not yet. She's caught a little offguard by the bow.
no subject
"And you milady?"
no subject
"I'm well, thank you." The speed with which she drinks her champagne might give the lie to that, a bit, but not much.
"You're here frequently?"
no subject
He glances at the empty glass.
"Refill?"
no subject
"Please -- Milliways is your local, then?"
no subject
There's a poker game not far away, and Liz is...rather good at reading tells.
no subject
"I'm sorry, I don't think I follow you. I come from a land called Tortall. And I divide my time between there and here in Milliways."
no subject
He has an 'ah, memories...' smile on his face. It's subtle, but there, in the very corner of his mouth, a slight twist.
"If you please."

Random leans on the bar, and shrugs.
"What, now that I've ordered it, is in it?"
no subject
"Let me know what you think.."
no subject
He sips.
"...fantastic. I'm definitely making it later. Thanks."

He takes another sip of the drink.
"At your service, seeing as you know how to make these. Very nice."

He shrugs, and glances at the time.
"It's an odd world. 'fraid I'm a bit rushed, though."
no subject
George smiles. "If I can get you anything else tonight, just let me know. If not, goodnight to you.."
no subject
And the glass is set down, and he's off.

"I'd heard tell you were about this place.."
