Jane Eyre slips in unobtrusively; Mr. Rochester would say it is due to her fairy feet. She would say it was from growing up in her aunt's house, tiptoeing to avoid her horrid cousins. Either way, she is now sitting quietly near the fire, enjoying a repast of tea and scones. Cranberry scones, even. She must be in an adventuresome mood.
She hums a quiet tun to herself as she surveys the room.

"But sir, why would such a thing exist? For God created darkness and light, the heavens and the earth. I distinctly remember it not being plural."

"And yet in the commandments it says to take no other Gods before him, By that simple statement, it says that there are other Gods. Why would they not create universes as well? Besides, we do not know the mind of God. Just because he didnt tell us about soemthing in the bible, doesnt mean he didnt do it..."
no subject
"Sir, what you say is on the boundary of heresy. While i am inclined to be doubtful of the Bible, I have experienced little that might replace it.
"Do you know of such things?"
She gently finishes with the last of her tea.
no subject
"I know a little of the Bible and while conventional beliefs of uit may say what I state if heresy, it is there in the bible for all to read. Never does it deny the existence of other Gods, merely that none are greater than him and that none may be placed higher than him, and that none may be worshipped by one who worships him. "
He blows out a breath of air.
"I do not mean to offend you, undeerstand that. I merely look at things and read them clearly and with an understanding of what they say by what is in those times when they were written."
He also nods at the end.
"And yes, I have expiernced things not written of in the Bible. This place would qualify as one and some of the residents would qualify as others."

Perhaps she will want that spiked tea after all.

He sounds honestly curious, his glasses glinting in a stray light from the fire.
He thinks about her second question.
"There are... many beings of power here... some of whom are... are those who have been known as Gods on Earth."
His voice is low and quiet and gentle.

"I was, though. When Mr. Broklehurst said that younger, far less wicked young children were going to heaven everyday, I replied that I must take care of myself and never die."
She reveals her pearly white teeth in a grin.
"I am afraid I shall never be as good, as kind or as patient as my dear friend Helen Burns was."
She stops. "Gods?"
no subject
he smiles wryly and nods.
"Yes. I am afraid so."
he looks down and then up at her.
"Do you really want to know who? Once spoken the knowledge is impossible to unknow..."
no subject
"I highly doubt that anything could suprise me, after my... That is not important. please proceed."
no subject
he shakes his ehad.
"There truly is far more here than exists in your philosophy, adn unless you can accept it, you will have quite a number of shocks to come."
no subject
"I dd not mean to be rude but...end of all time?"
The tea cup, so delicately held by Jane, suddenly dropped to the floor with a crash and a tinkle of china.
no subject
"Would you care for something stronger perhaps? We speak of things you are not sused to and in my day a bit of reinforcement is not seen as a bad thing."
no subject
She loks up at him.
"Oh yes, anything."
She is still blinking.
no subject
"This is mulled wine, pure and not too incredibly strong, but solid enough to help, I hope, and it also is hot, so hopefully that will help as well."
he hands it over and niods.
"Try it, please?"
no subject
When she finishes, the cup is empty, and her eyes are a bit unfocused, but she seems les likely to break.
no subject
With a gentle voice he speaks.
"Would you like me to continue?"
no subject
"Please do." Her words migt be a bit slurred, but she seems oblivious. She'd never drunk wine before and she rather liked the feeling of fuzzyness. It ws better than the faint feeling of disorientation nagging at the corner of her mind.
no subject
"I think perhaps, that as a doctor, I should instead see that you get some rest. You have had some shocks an it is now apparent you have not much experience with wines. Let's get you to your room so you can sleep and think afterwards."
he rises and comes around to her.
no subject
"I am alright, perhaps only a little excitable. You were talking of gods?"
no subject
"Yes. At last count, there was Hel and Loki from the Norse Gods, Raven, Coyote, and a few other tricksters from the American Indian culture, Torak, who was from another world, Mandos and Melkor from Ea, and a few others... all more or less Gods."
no subject
Shhe seems that she has heard of Loki, possibly. The rest of the names mean nothing to her, and her face is blank.
no subject
Ther names are not important. The fact is they are what they say. Gods are here in Milliways and so are..."
he breaks off.
"There is a lot of stuff here, and you neednt worry about it all."
no subject
no subject
"Actually, i was referring to the fact that you surely dont need a rolecall of all those who are here, which was what i was about to launch into..."
he looks sheepish.
"I get caught up in lecturing at times, I am afraid. I did not mean to sound as if I was tyalking down to you."
He grins again.
"I will telly uo all I can about this place, an you will listen. the hardest part is knowing exactyl how to put it and what order and such..."
no subject
"Please proceed. I have been supplied more than sufficent events to make me question my life. I am certainly embraced enough with your fine wine to endure even the roughest of shocks. Proceed."
