Samantha sat in her booth, her hand over her eyes as she stares dejectedly at the plate of waffles on the floor.

She should pick them up. But crying sounds a lot more fun right now.

"I'm not." Sam mumbles. "They were thrown at my head."

"Wanna talk about it?"

And about now is the time when Mel's arm wraps around Sam's shoulders, if she'll have it.

Sam takes it, and leans into her. "My best friend and I got into a fight. She's being selfish and..." She sighs. "And then afterwards, some stupid idiot starts shit with me...and I'm just tired and don't feel good now."

"Jesu," Mel gives her a quick squeeze and holds her close. "Which idiot?"

"I don't even know. He sounded French." Sam shrugs. "Pale, dark hair. Frilly clothes."

Mel headtables.

"Jesu. That guy again.

"What did he do?"

"Just taunted me. For no reason. Then I threw a waffle at him and he stabbed with a knife." Sam looks up at Mel. "He's kind of scary."

"He's kind of a ruttin' creep," she says. "Security already have their eye on him. Guess y'just have to ignore him where you can."

Sam nods softly. "Yeah. I guess so."

"OR," Mel suggests. "Y'can call me over the minute he starts givin' ya toy, and I'll happily beat the rut out of him."

Samantha giggles. "That would be fun. I might just do that."

"Should do," Mel says. "I'd totally let you watch."

Samantha right out laughs. "Great! It would make my day!"
