In the bar, an angel is moving.
He might have been sitting, still as a statue and pale as one, in the corner.
Or he might have come in by the door.
Xas has learned to blend, after so long a time wingless.
He stops by the bar, laying one hand on the surface lightly, almost wonderingly. And then he orders a glass of wine, white, and tasting delicately of fruit.
And then he finds an empty booth and sits, sipping his drink lazily and watching the people go by.
Xas has made quite a study of them, over the years, after all. Humans, that is. Possibly it's time for him to broaden his horizons.

But there's a grin.

Xas does not flinch.

"Not really. Wings get in the way."
no subject
Xas looks at him, a half-smile flitting across his face.
"That would be a distraction, right enough."
no subject
"Play it your way. I can understand some people are shy."

Which is actually true.
"It helps in my line of work."

Xas' voice is cool, his face very still.

"I'm Magic."
no subject
Still slightly amused.
"It sounds inconvenient."
no subject
He shrugs.
"But, well, better then working for the Presence."
no subject
Xas honestly wants to know.
"And who is the Presence?"
Keep in mind that he's never really heard that term applied to God, before.

Tim points upwards.
"Y'know, Yaweh, Jehoveh, Allah, whatever It wills Itself this week."

His voice is amused.
"It tends toward the impressive."
no subject
Tim shrugs.
"He's just the Son of God. No big deal."

He is a copy of Christ, in shape, after all, if not function.
"I see."
no subject
"Welcome."
And then he fades away.
