Tim sprints out of the staff wing, a blue scrap of blanket thrown over one shoulder. He jumps onto a table in the middle of the bar, and begins speaking in a loud voice.
"And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger."
And Then eh steps off, dropping into a seat, satisfied.

"Very nice."

"Thank you, thank you."

"No actual nativity play though. I must say that I'm a little disappointed. You'd make a good Melchior."
no subject
Color Tim confused.
"And no, not this year. Maybe next. See if we can get Jesus to play himself."

"Never bothered studying that stuff."
He taps his head.
'When you have angels on the Justice League, and demons around on a regular basis, you tend to not want to go into the deep stuff."

Nodding at the tabletop he had narrated from. "Is that an annual thing you do?"
no subject
A shrug.
"Just, y'know, a reminder. It might become one. Depends on if I can be here."
He grins a bit.
"Despite ten years since i first got here, it's only been two christmas'/"
no subject
"And what about a reminder for non-Christians," she points out with a smirk. It's not like she cares, but she's in a feisty mood.

Tim tilts back his tea.
"They're all goin to hell anyways,"
no subject
no subject
A shrug.
"So, if you repent after death, who knows?"
no subject
no subject
"I do. Christs word."
Then the grin splits his face.
"OH! you think I mean the bible, right? No, Jesus used to show up here. Liked the beer. And I've been face to face with the Presence, although that was more of an argument situation."
A faint shrug.
"I've dealt with way too many angels. Thier boss is an asshole."
no subject
"I've studied the bible, but since I'm near-immortal and from a world where there were no deities, I like to entertain all possibilities."
no subject
He shrugs.
"The correct answer is Mormon."
no subject
Quizzical look. "What has he got to do with it?"
no subject
A shake of the ehad.
"No, I mean, that's the correct relegion."
no subject
It seems unlikely to her, somehow.
"Why did it take so long for the movement to get founded? And why did it start in America, of all places?"
no subject
"God works in mysterious ways."
He cocks his head.
"A thing?"
no subject
"Maybe Snow could correct me," she says with a final shrug. Goldy deferring to Snow? Whatever. The remark is over-laden with sarcasm.
no subject
"Huh. Interestin."
no subject
She sups a little of her wine and considers lighting up again, rotating the pack of cigarettes where it lays on the bartop. She decides not to just yet.
"So what did you get me for Christmas?" she says with an innocent blink and a fake plastic smile of expectancy.
no subject
"Don't know you well enough to get you what I got anyone else."
He ponders this.
"What would you like?"
no subject
"Don't sweat it. I don't need anything."
no subject
He smiles easily.
"what would you like?"
no subject
"Forget it. Really, there's nothing," she says kindly but also solemnly.
Her Christmas has already been made by her sexual liaisons of the past few nights.
no subject
"Okay, but the offer is there."
no subject
She leans back, satisified, then notices something slightly different about him. She's very observant. However, though she spots the lack wedding band, she's not going to bring it up at Christmas.
He pulls her eyes away and offers a thin smile, sympathetic and rueful. That's all.
no subject
Yeh.
Tim shrugs.
"Shit happens."
