At the bar, some gifts, left en route to the Tonks-Wrangles'.

For River, a pot - deep, rich terracotta, filled with soil, and showing just the first shoots of a winter plant. The pot is labelled, in a thin, angular script, Aglaonema - Chinese Evergreen.

For Kaylee and Simon, a rather large (and heavy) box. Inside, padded on red velvet, three sets of very fine crystal glasses; wineglasses, an equal number of champagne flutes, and a third set - shotglasses.

The note inside reads:

I thought to myself - what does every space-travelling couple just starting out need?

These aren't self-cleaning ( <- injoke), but you can't say I didn't try.
