Surprise hug pounce from behind!

"Hey! Merry slightly belated Christmas!"

Mary Anne's got a grin that won't quit. She's also wearing a glittery pink bikini top that might look familiar.

He jumps, then grins and catches her arms so she can't pull them away.

'Hey! Merry Christmas!'

He twists his head to look at her, then lets her go when he notices the lack of clothes on her top half. There's a laugh at the sight of it.

'I knew pink was your colour. Random didn't believe me. Shows how much he knows.'

Whether Random was actually right or not, of course, is a matter of opinion.

She laughs. "You kidding? I love this thing. Wore it yesterday; pretty sure I got hit on by a girl and Lucifer bought me a drink. Can't wait to see what happens when I wear the whole thing."

'Hit on by a girl?' Ramon is now wearing his favourite pervy rrreeeeaaaalllyyyy? face. Except...

'Lucifer?'

He'd heard he was here, from an angel. But still.

'What's he like? And what do you want to drink?'

She thinks. "Pretty, in his own sharp featured way. Charismatic, but a man of few words. Not bad company, over all. And this time he didn't set my hand on fire."

She says it like she's talking about the weather.

"Hm, given the outfit, only Sex on the Beach seems appropriate."

He considers this, then lets it go. Might make an effort to meet him though because better the Devil you know, and all that.

'I've never seen you with a burnt hand.' He grins and orders the drink, plus a coffee for himself. 'How was your Christmas then? Hope you like the rifle as much as the bikini.'

"Didn't really burn, just felt that way." She shrugs. "I was drunk and annoying him, but then he decided he liked me. Or something."

Her eyes get a little wider at the thought of the rifle. "Oh my God, yes. It's gorgeous; can't wait to use it. And the knife's gonna get a proper breaking in as soon as I have the chance."

He laughs. 'Glad to hear it. They weren't given as ornaments, that's for sure. The rifle's from my time though, so you might not be able to get ammo in Vietnam - bar will provide though I expect, on my tab. Just ask. If she's antsy about giving it out, I'll pick some more up for you next time I'm on Earth.'

He lights a cigarette casually. 'Good to have powerful friends I suppose. Though annoying Satan is possibly not the best idea.'

She nods. "Thanks. I'll take a closer look at her later; see how similar she is to what we have back home."

"I wouldn't have annoyed him if I'd known who he was!" she protests. "He didn't tell me his name until after my hand was on fire. For my part, I blame the tequila."

Sikozu's bored tonight, which really doesn't bode well for the bar's patrons and he gave her a good fight last time. There might be something like a grudging respect.

Maybe.

"Are you really happy, or is this just a show for your," she waves a hand toward the tree, "silly holiday?"

'I'm really happy, you'll be sorry to know.' He grins in a disgustingly cheery manner. 'And I can't take credit for the holiday either.'

This could be fun. He likes blunt people, no matter how much he'd hated her last time.

'Want a drink?'

She shakes her head.

"I do not require food or drink for at least another ten solar days. And I find nothing wrong with people being happy." Really, she doesn't. "I was simply curious since many seem to feel the need to pretend."

'They probably have reason to. I do not.' He flips a cigarette into his mouth, still smiling. 'Christmas is a wonderful holiday and if people don't know that, it's their problem.'

He's never cared much about it before but this year's a bit different.

'You've been ignoring it then, I take it?'

"Amused, actually. It's not a holiday I celebrate. I don't have any holidays, in fact." She shrugs. "It was an excuse to research something new, which is always pleasing."

'None at all? That's boring.'

He grins again, in the hope that it'll annoy her. 'But you like learning stuff? As small minded as you were last time we spoke, that rather surprises me.'

"Scarrans have their special days. I was forced to celebrate them, but I choose not to anymore." She's surprisingly calm about that.

"I was a researcher by trade before... Crichton." And not so calm anymore. "But my people are generally interested in learning. Education is prized above all else."

He sniffs and wonders whether he's in the mood to poke her about this guy. Might be fun to see how much it takes to make her explode.

'Why? What's so great about education? Waste of time if you ask me.'

He doesn't really believe that. Kind of, anyway. He's just seeing what pisses her off.

Ramon ends up in a good mood ANY time he and Random disappear for a few days together.

Gorlim appears rather suddenly from behind Ramon and waves.

"Apricot brandy?" He offers a small open bottle.

Yes, strange that. This? Was particularly good though. People died and everything!

'Sure, thanks.'

He takes the bottle and just has a little bit.

'Good Christmas? Thanks very much for the necklace, it's great.'

And he is, in fact, wearing said gift.

Gorlim grins. "Glad you like it. Everyone should have a talisman thingy like that. And yes, Christmas was very nice. Ramon, the necklace is brilliant for Kelly. And the music is splendid. Ellie extends her thanks, also. You and Random are fabulous."

He grins, because it's nice to have got something that people like.

'Your proper present'll be here in a couple of days, just got something to sort out first. Thought that'd keep you going for a bit though - and the necklace was Random's idea, you'll have to give him credit. I'd never heard of the tale but it sounds nice.'

He's never been called 'fabulous' before. It's a weird sort of compliment he thinks, but not unwelcome.

'So everything else is alright then?'

"Everything's fine. You said a thing was coming in the note. What are you talking about?" He pokes Ramon with the brandy bottle.

'I'm not telling you that. You'll just have to wait and see.'

He paints on a beautific grin. 'How do you like it? You won't tell me about this thing with Random, so you'll have to wait and find out about your present.'

'No, Mary Anne. But she won't say what. And then I asked Random and he was all cryptic and forced me not to keep asking. Bastard.'

Said lovingly, obviously. And then Gorlim gets a thwap on the arm.

'Don't call him a bastard!'
