Surprising, perhaps, but not to some.
Valentine Wiggin-Skywalker and Mark Cohen are sietting at a table, having a rather intense conversation. Not intense in the sense of angry or emotional, but, well, both of them seem to be in deep conversation about a stuffed Ewok in the middle of the table. Mark is trying to convince Val not to give it back to Wes. Anyone care to join the argument?

There isa Magius, looking lean, but not too odd. He smiles to Mark as well.

"How have you been? I haven't seen you in ages?" She studies him for a moment.

"Some ups, some downs. It has indeed been awhile. How are you?"
His eyes crinkle with humor.
"Everytime I see you, it generally means you ar working."

"Good, you deserve some time off."
He smiles slightly.
"As well as can be expected. Things... change."
He shakes his head.
"And sometimes destinies change."

"A thing I dont know what it will be yet...it does not feel good, but ... I cannot predict what will be."
he smiles slihgly, pain in his eyes or a moment.
"The magic is gone. All of it. All my knowledge, power and influence, wiped away."

He smiles slightly at her concern.
"Thank you. The Gods arent answering and I am still marked as theirs. Other Gods and powers magic simply wont work on me, a far as I know."
he looks down.
"I am still lookin, but part of the price is I cant even read a book about magic now. it is illegible to me."

He sighs.
"Thank you, Val. I appreciate it. A lot."
He smiles a little.
"Things are a little easier when there are friends around."

"You're not Death."
To both of them.
He's very confused.

"Mark Cohen, this is Ben Skywalker. Ben, Mark." She waves idly, introducing the two.

Oh, and by the way. Fucking Milliways.

He peers at the Ewok. "Where'd you get that, then?"

"My mom said not to give it back to Janson," he adds, grinning a little shiftily at Mark and Val. "I left it with Death by mistake though." He tilts his head. "...it wasn't him putting glitter on it, was it?"
Death with glitter is an ... interesting image.

Val shakes her head, however. "No, it wasn't Death who was glittering it. It was someone else."
no subject
He grins to Ben. "I think I like you, little one."

So the skeleton guy gave the Ewok to someone else, huh? Ben thinks about this, but then shrugs it off because it's not actually of interest to him. He never wanted to keep the thing in the first place.
"Yeah?" He grins back at Mark. "I guess you're okay. But I'm not that little," he adds, in a warning tone that might seem more serious if he wasn't four feet tall.
no subject
Mark just laughs. "Uh-oh. I apologise, Ben. I will have to hold my tongue in that case." He's grinning. Just a bit.

"...are you making fun of me?"

Ben forgets about the potential insult and peers at the camera in question.
"Hey, that's an Earth thing, right? I met someone with an Earth camera before! She took a picture of me." He thinks for a second. "That was a long time ago." Well, for him, it was a year, after all.

He's more interested in the camera though, and he studies it again curiously. "It makes vids? Hey, holovids? Or is it all flatscreen? Earth's just got flatscreens, doesn't it? So are you a reporter?"
no subject
He shakes his head. "No. Not a reporter at all. I make films, er, more like documenting what goes on around me. Not the flashy holovid things you're used to."
no subject
The interest in cameras is genuine, though yes, he may or may not have sensed the need for change. Maybe not consciously though.
"I like holofilms," Ben says thoughtfully, "but I never really watched any documentaries, 'cept the one about Uncle Wedge during the war. Are you famous on Earth, then?"
no subject
Mark grins a bit. "It's not your typical documentary. There's dancing on tables and my best friend in a skirt."
no subject
Then he laughs gleefully. "Really? That sounds fun! Was that here or on Earth?"

He doesn't think of things like, oh, not owning any technology that can play Earth vids.

Ben grins, then glances over at the door. "I better go or Nanna'll get me in trouble. Will you bring the vid next time?"

Ben waves at Mark and Val before running off to the door and home.
