Helga enters the bar in a flurry of cold snow, the hood of her cloak keeping her face in shadow, her head bowed against the wind. The door cloes behind her with a bang and she jumps, looking up to see where she is.
"Oh," she says simply, pushing her hood back and unfastening her cloak. She drapes it over the back of a chair to dry, and takes a seat.

I have been well, thank you for asking. Winter is a truely wonderful time is it not?"
no subject
"One never knows. But, yes. Winter is a lovely time of year. I do like it myself. What have you been up to, back on your world?"
no subject
And of course Helga is not above playing in the snow with her brothers either, although as this is Not Proper Ladylike Behavior, she doesn't mention it.
"And my father has been hosting many feasts and gatherings of late as well."

he is curious. he is not such a teacher and has little patience for it.

"Why not?"
Then he holds up a hand.
"Let me explain. in my time and place it is normal for women to hold professions, including some thjat most just a time ago thoguth scandalous, So forgive me if asking treads somewhere it shouldnt."

Her cheeks flush red and something in the way she says it suggests that she is not entirely happy about the prospect of this. Poor Helga is not so good at concealing her feelings and emotions.

He frowns, considers and plunges in.
"If I may say, and I apologize if I ive offense, but... Soemtimes to change the way thing are 'done', one person much start it. You are smart, a good witch, adnm from what it sounds like, a good teacher. Perhaps it is you who must change the way things ar done by doing what you are made to do, instead of what others think is right and proper."

"It seems as if he would want you to be happy, but, ah, it is none of my business I suppose. At least you can come ehre, of a time, and do other things, read and write and enjoy it."

"Then I hope, for your sake and his, that your life and his both continue well and with peace about them."
And he smiles.
"And I hope you will continue to come here so i can plague you with questions."
no subject
She smiles in return and nods.
"For as long as the Landlord, whomever he might be, chooses to bring me here, I will be happy to answert any question you might have."
no subject
"In that case, may I buy you a drink? Tis a cold and windy day outsdie, at least here."

"Spiced light Mulled wine please, for both of us."
he turns back to her.
"Bar makes a very light brand hat contains little enough alcohol not to worry about getting druink, yet a rich flavor."
A few minutes later tyhe drinks come and he hands hers to her.
"To learning and friends and family."

"Your society seems somewhat structured. Do you have a way to keep in contact with others like yourself? Other witches and wizards?"

Then he grins.
'Ah, markets, one of the oldest social eevnts of all time. Ingenious."
no subject
"The markets are terribly interesting events."
no subject
"Well on my world, we enchant letters with teleportation spells. They go where we want them. And mortals send theirs by carrier."
he smiles.
"The markets of my homeland were amazing. I was never oen for tyhem, though, not before. Nowadays, I might eb interested in such."
no subject
I do so enjoy the markets. There are always small trinkets and such to pick up. And the owners of the stalls are fascinating people. Some of the tales they tell, can hardly be believed."

"I would not ask you ever to do anything that would get you in trouble or make you uncomfortable. Only if you discover it is safe for you and okay with you, would I ask it."
He smiles a little.

"Of course. Take your time. I dont think I can leave at the moment anyway. I cant see the Door."
He smiles.
"Where di you leanr your magic, if I may ask."
He concentrates, hoping he can understand and hear her words, even if half the conversation has been slipping through his mind's grasp.
no subject
I say, Sir Magius, are you feeling quite alright?" she frowns.
no subject
He sighs.
"In truth, not completely. I serve Gods on my homeworld and my nmjagic comes from them. recently I angered them, and they chose to withdraw their magic, completely. Unfortunately, their magical prohibition leans so far as to make it impossible for me to even hear words about magic. So I keep missing words and parts of sentences. I was ratehr hoping your inherrant mahioc wouldnt be effected, but it is."
He sighs and looks down.
"I am rather a complete un-wizard now."

no subject
"I dont know."

"I will be okay. I know it. I jut ahve to find a way to function... it's hard and very offputting, but... I will survive."
He smiles at ehr and hen glances around.
"I will survive."
no subject
"I admire your courage Sir."
no subject
"I am not all that courageous. I just am stubborn. I refuse to die because I have no magic. I dont know what I will do, but I will find something."

he eyes her for a moment.
"You might, however be surprised by how much courage you have. Sometimes it comes from inside at the strangest of moments."

He styands.
"Anyway, I need to do a few things, but it has been very nice talking with you. I hope to see you again soon."
