Jack heads into the bar, taking a seat on a stool and asking Bar for a pen and paper. When they appear he scribbles a note to Bernard:
Bernard--
A friend of mine and patron has gone missing: Chloe O'Brian. We can't be sure what's happened to her, but from what I've heard from someone from a later point in my world, as well as the (mostly incoherent) note and blood droplets found in her room, it seems likely that some kind of foul play was involved. Whether in-bar or out-of-bar, I'm not sure.
Could you let the staff know to keep their ears open, in case they hear anything about what happened to her--or in case they see her? I've attached a description. Would Bar be able to let me know if Chloe orders anything, for that matter?
Thanks for your help.
--Jack Bauer
He scribbles down a description of Chloe, then folds the note, and addresses it, placing it on the bar top without a word. It disappears and is replaced by a cup of coffee--obviously Bar has relaxed her restrictions on his coffee consumption for the moment.
He gives the bar top a pat in thanks, then picks up his coffee, sipping it thoughtfully.

'Evening Jack. Good Christmas?'
no subject
Jack doesn't even look up. "Wonderful. Enjoy the coal Santa put in your stocking?" he says, coolly.

'Oh yes, it's tasty. I've developed quite the taste for it since I became the Devil, you know?' He rolls his eyes and orders himself a coffee.
'I have something for you, from a mutual acquaintance on Earth.'

He pulls a small package from his pocket, wrapped in Christmas paper and tied with a ribbon. It's about ten inches long, four wide, two deep. There's a tag that says, 'Merry Christmas Jack,' in block capitals.
'I'm curious to know what's in it myself. I'll stay here while you open it so you know it's not a bomb.'

With a suspicious glance at Ramon, Jack carefully unwraps the package.

Ramon maintains a look of polite curiousity the whole time. Of course.

He replaces the lid, making a mental note to dump the box in the fire at the first opportunity, preferaby in front of Ramon. "Seems like a waste of time for our 'mutual acquaintance' to get such a useless gift," he says in a bored tone.

Jack,
Noted. I think I've served Chloe before. I'll have Bar produce a picture of her, and the staff will be informed.
Bar will give you a note if she orders, or even enters the room.
I assume you've spoken to Barry about forensics, and Alanna about Security's possible involvement.
Here's hoping she's okay.
--Bernard
[ooc: Just have Bar give him a note if Chloe comes back, okay?]

Thanks--hopefully this is a lot of fuss over nothing. Will keep an eye out, anyway.
