Thar be dragons Kantri here.

Kédra's hunched by the lake's edge, doing something with the sand. Why don't you ask what? He's not hard to miss.

Once, a lifetime ago, when he called himself Vic Sage, he built a snowman with a little girl. The girl is long gone, as much a passing moment as the snowman. Charlie remembers Jackie, remembers his failure, remembers her mother's strange acceptance that a child who never had it easy would be spared a life of misery, remembers her smile and her joy in building that snowman.

This snowman, Charlie thinks, is for Jackie Connelly. And for her mother, Myra Fermin, who never let despair stand in her way as Hub City's mayor. And maybe it's for Charlie, who knows that sometimes you have to build a snowman.

[ooc: there will be much slowtime, but open to all till Tuesday.]

There's still a Kantri in faux-Scotland.

He's watching the horses. We'll be honest: he's wondering what they taste like. Maybe he can get permission to find out.

About an hour ago, by means of the bar, Carlotta learned about free running. And was suddenly reminded that there were far more obstacles out back to be acrobatic on than just the trees.

She is on the roof of the bar for a while, hopping lightly between different sections, sometimes flipping over. Eventually she moves along the roof and launches herself onto the bough of a nearby tree, landing like a cat and somersaulting onto the next one in a fluid motion.

She catches the branch above it to come to a stop, then flips over and balances on one hand, holding the position and looking down to the ground below to see if anyone else is around.

Dinah used to have very many teachers and trainers and father figures in Milliways.

It occurs to her, now that she's found a new teacher on her own world, that she hasn't seen most of them in a while - since before college, maybe? This gives her something to reflect on.

She hasn't brought shoes of her own into the bar, but Bar provides a pair of sneakers so she can head out to the lake, and the training grounds thereout. In view of them, she stands by the lakeside and skips stones across the surface.

Which reminds her of someone else she hasn't seen in over a year, and misses.

Outside, the very large bronzy dragon is...howling? He's trying to mimic the sounds of the wolves from over the full moon, but he hasn't quite got it right. It's still very, well. Dragon.

Though he'd thank you to use the word 'Kantri'.

[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
If you're going to put in four of five pups, you may as well put the last one in as well.

In other words, a large house-sized metallic bronze is sitting on a rock beside the lake, intently watching the water below him.
[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
The great metallic bronze dragon comes to land by the Caribbean inlet a bit roughly, spraying up sand in all directions. It's been a while since he came down from the mountain, but apparently still not long enough for the snow to finish melting (hence the Caribbean inlet). Not that a little snow makes him cold, but as a rule of wing, he tends to prefer warmer temperatures.

However, salt water is not good for drinking, so the dragon will be wandering down the shore until he gets to the fresh portion of the lake. Even if it means he has to wander through the wet mucky stuff.

[OOC: Mun is trying third person rather than first for Kédra. Feel free to poke.}

There is a great shiny bronze lump curled up at the Caribbean inlet.

It may be snoring.

Outside, one may find a Kantri walking around the lake. I had not spoken to another soul for too long; the evidence was all around. Has it already been a year since I came to Milliways? Not a great amount of time, true, but still...I missed home.

But the path back had not revealed itself. So I walked around the lake, melting snow as I went.

I was finally quite satisfied with my chambers. I'd spent much of these past moons carving the khaadish therein, lightly and carefully since it was still rather thin. It was delicate work, but well worth it.

I was by the lake now, scraping the bits of khaadish off of my claws and rinsing them in the water.

And trying not to think about what I would do now that I did not have this to distract me.
[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
I soared above the lake, then closed my wings.

SPLASH!

Watch out for the waves.

[Xaldin, Alyx Vance]

[OOC: Mun is for bed now, but tag until it falls off the page.]

I sat near the lake on a rock large enough to bear me. I flared my wings to catch the breeze, armour and water reflecting each other.

The water looked inviting.

Summer? Pffft!

You can find Bobby out back in a little winter wonderland of his own making! There are ice barriers up at either side of the snowy patch, and large piles of snow and snowballs behind each one.

Now all he needs is someone to battle with!

I had been so excited at the chance I might be able to return home, I had assumed it was a certainty.

That I was once more outside of Milliways has proven that wrong. I was surprised to find the jungle had shrunk slightly and wondered how long I had been gone. Standing in Worry, I Flamed the scent of the Heartless off of me.

After this Xaldin comes into the bar. He's moving stiffly - like his body aches - but there is no discernible pain on his face. He leaves a note for Axel with the Bar.

VIII )

Then he heads outside where the air is less uncomfortable.
[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
The jungle that sprang up is completely impassable by a creature my size.

Fortunately, I have wings.

Most of the rest of the patrons are less fortunate. I have only seen a few fight their way past the foliage, and those are mostly the ones that disappear into the woods for the full moon nights. I watch for any one else trying to brave the jungle.

It fights back, I have found.

My armour glistened in the starlight, throwing reflected patches on the grass around me.

I sang softly in the darkness, weaving my voice through the sounds of the waves nearby.

Accompaniment would be welcome.

[OOC: Bed now. Open until his next EP.]
[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
I was curled up, wings close, soaking up the heat of the sun. My armour glistened in the light, making me look like a statue of bronze. I made certain to shift something every now and then so no patron would confuse me for such.

It was a lovely day.
[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
At least two hours of flight every day to keep the muscles in shape. My father taught me that long ago. I think of him whenever I practice now, but it's a joy to do so. Today's two hours were long past, but I still floated on the winds, watching those below. There is always something new to see at Milliways. Conversation, however, is difficult from such a height.

I tucked my wings back, falling into a dive towards the lake.

[ooc: Two pups, one mun! Have at!]

Byers is sitting at the table off to the side of the bar tonight, marking the latest layout of The Lone Gunman for errors.

There are a few misplaced letters here and there -- his fault, he was in a rush to get this to print -- and one or two layout flaws, but it's nothing his red pen can't handle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Nick is outside, strolling around the lake with Nero. It's an absolutely gorgeous night out, and it's about time he spent some quality time with the wolf.

Hopefully, the walk will help clear his head. He's been thinking about the same things far too often, lately, and he's convinced that his thoughts are the culprits behind the gray hairs he found the other night.
[identity profile] mallory-grace.livejournal.com
Mallory is out back by the lake, just enjoying the early evening. The air is cool, but not overly cold, and it's peaceful as the last of the light fades from the sky.
[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
I had explored the grounds of Milliways many times already, but there always seemed to be something new to see. I did try to avoid the horses, though, as they rarely reacted well to my presence, and I could hardly blame them. Had I not known they belonged to the Gedri, I would surely have eaten one.

A Lord of the Kantri could be found strolling outside. Company would be welcome.
[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
I contented myself with walking the grounds of Milliways today, taking comfort in the sun that made my armour shimmer and the wind that reminded me of home.

Conversation would be welcomed.
[identity profile] soulkeepersong.livejournal.com
There had been few people outside as of late, which was unsurprising. It was muddy out and my claws were constantly sinking into the earth.

The sandy shores of the lake, at least, do not cling quite so much.

[OOC: Mun is at work and may vanish sporadically here.]
