*Raph comes in via the front door. He's carrying a duffle bag over his shoulder. Immediately he scans the crowd for Penny, until his eyes pass where the hole should be. The bag falls to the floor with a loud clatter*

Hey Meg, how'd the audition go?

*Meg grins nervously.*

Dieu, I wish I knew, I hate this waiting, I won't know 'till tomorrow, I'm just glad that the whole no-time-in-Milliways thing doesn't work for me or else I couldn't have come in here at all if it would have made it longer to wait!

*grins*

*Meg grins back and tries very hard to actually take a deep breath instead of chattering on for another five minutes.*

go on talk, you remind me of one of my friends back in San Diego. *grins*

*Meg giggles.* You might wish before long that you hadn't given me the encouragement, not that I need much encouragement in the state I'm in, I think even if I fell asleep, which I couldn't, I'd just go right on talking anyways . . . what's your friend in San Diego like?

well, you remind me of two. Polexia is younger than me and Beth is my age. Polexia is the cutest thing, and Beth is clarivoyant, she picks up hints about the future. They both are hyper talkers though. 'lexia used to do ballet

Oh really? *Meg looks interested.* Sounds like she was perfectly cut out to be a ballet dancer, why'd she quit? *Meg cannot fathom why anyone would want to leave ballet once they'd had a chance.*

Huh, clairvoyant, that's got to get annoying after a while for her - I mean, takes the fun out of things, right, if you know what's going to happen? That's why you've always got to be careful here when you run into people from a time before yours - I'm always having to stop myself telling people what's going to happen, it's awfully hard.

Well, 'lexia was into other stuff. You and she would get along really well. She was in England last I heard from her. She was doing school and concerts and all. It got to be too much.

Well, Beth only caught fuzzy bits of the future not enough to bank on really.

*Meg grins.* Oh, that sounds kind of cool, actually - like a riddle, you know, try and see if you can puzzle it out. I always liked guessing games.

*She giggles, then mock-frowns.* Now what's a ballerina, even an ex-ballerina, doing in England? Anyone with any talent ought to be in France - you should tell her that, she ought to go to France, not waste her time in silly England. I mean, the British are nice enough, some of my best friends here are Brits, but I'm sorry, they just can't hold a candle . . .

She's over there with a band. She does the whole music circuit like I did. She still dances. The band was touring in England so 'lex went to. She was supposed to go to Paris last year but she spent it touring with me and the bands.

I've always wanted to go to France *sighs*

*Meg's eyes widen as she repeats the instructions she's given to Raph.*

Bands are all very well, but they're not worth missing Paris! You have to go. Now. Especially now that you and Raph are - you know - well, Paris is for lovers, so go now, or you'll regret it forever - you cannot miss Paris, it's the most wonderful place in the world!

I'm sure I'll get there sometime, honey. Everyone should go to France.

Indeed. *In her patriotic fervor, Meg accidentally slips into French.* Parce que c'est la plus belle pays du monde, avec les meilleures vetements, et la meilleure cuisine - no wonder the bar decided to vacation there!
