"Boromir's a nice guy. I met him the first night he came in. Looked like a fish out of water, and said this was not what he was told the afterlife would be like," Sara says with another grin.
"My supervisor ground out an apology for his recent behavior for me.I accepted, of course, but stole his crossword book in retaliation. So I'm having a good day as well."
"Yes, he said that to me as well," Asar-Suti says, neutrally. So he'd better not tell how he had heard about Boromir beforehand...
"He seems to be finding his feet, though - I introduced him to coffee today, and he was not at all spooked by the power tools. He's really nice to have around."
She nods. "I didn't tell him that, well, he's known on my Earth. In fantasy novels and in a trilogy of movies now. I wasn't sure how he could take it." She shrugs slightly.
She grins again. "I saw him a couple of days ago. He had discovered the wonder of running water. He looked very impressed by the set up. I really can't imagine what it must be like to not have, well, the stuff I take for granted."
Asar-Suti smiles, relieved. "Yes - I read the books and seen the movies as well. You know, Gil and I cried like babies over him dying at the end of 'Fellowship', to be honest. It's majorly odd to suddenly meet him for real, here, and have him go sort out the people hanging kitchend cabinets - he did that wonderfully!"
He nods. "Yes, I'm really impressed at how fast he adapts, really. Boromir with spirit level and power drill/screwdriver - wow!"
Boromir is rather wow in whatever circumstance, at least to Asar-Suti, to tell the truth.
"Man, I was crying too. All he wanted to do was protect his people. He didn't desire power himself. Galadriel really pissed me off. Hell, most of the elves did." She smiles at the mention of the cabinets. "He certainly doesn't seem like the type who would leave someone without helping. Chivalry can be a good thing."
"He asked me about my world--seemed rather shocked at the idea of women doing what I do, which initially annoyed me. But I understand where he's coming from." She shrugs minutely. "If nothing else, he is rather open-minded."
She grins again. "He probably didn't expect to find a fanboy here." She loves teasing people.
"All I could do was stop myself from drooling outright!" Asar-Suti blurts out. "Man, I mean, Boromir! Wow!"
The small purple god is positively gushing.
"I suppose he has no idea that people know him, and what an effect he has. I did get to tell him that this is the end of time, I heard about him in history books, and then I told him how 'Lord Of The Rings' continued after hsi part was done. He seemed very moved to hear about Aragorn becoming king. And that everything turned out well. I didn't tell him about his father, though."
Sara jumps, not having heard Romana's approach. She gives her a chagrined look. "Thanks." Looking back down she mutters, "I should've known that." She is very much an overachiever.
"No, it's okay," she says with an apologetic grin. "I actually didn't know that answer, or the majority of these for that matter. It's just a source of competition between myself and my supervisor. Which I'll gracefully lose this time around."
She snags the jelly babies. "But I won't say no to candy."
Romana looks thoughtful as she chews a blue jelly baby. "Well, you needn't tell him I helped you. What would you tell him anyway? A Time Lord from Gallifrey gave you the answers? You'd be committed."
"Help yourself. I have a ridiculous amount of these things."
"I'm waiting to see how long it takes for him to notice I stole his puzzle book," she says with a grin. "He doesn't need to know where I get my answers."
Eating a few, Sara smiles again. She turns to the bar, requesting a bottle of water. Bad thing about candy--always makes a body thirsty.
"They do pass the time. Another thing that's great for that is a Rubik's cube. Assuming, of course, that you don't punt it down the hall in frustration." Sara's tone states that she has never done such a thing. Ever.
"So why do you think you've been drawn here? I ask only because I've come to believe that everyone who walks through these doors has a reason to visit. Maybe they're looking for something or someone. Maybe they just needed to get away."
Hal smiles to himself, then shares the smile with her.
"Or maybe we all just needed more time with the living, even if they are from other dimensions and realities."
"Can I pick all of the above, for $500 Alex?" She says with a sigh. "I deal with the aftermaths of death and destruction. Coming here, I see people happy and well, if not actually alive. It's...refreshing."
"Someone I thought was a friend didn't exactly betray me, but didn't have my back the way I had hers in the past. That's...hurt. A lot. And others I also thought friends..." she shakes her head. "Again, here, it doesn't seem to be the same."
"Here, people don't judge. People just accept. I guess I need that."

There is a brightly grinning Asar-Suti nearby.

Asar-Suti grins very brightly, having no idea whehter Sara can place the name Boromir - in-bad, or from his canon.

Then frowns slightly. "Oh dear, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ruin your puzzle for you."
She offers Sara some jelly babies to make up for it.

Looking up from what might just be his sixth cup of coffee, he spies a Sidle.
"You know, Sara," he approaches, "they say Confucius does his crosswords with a pen."
He sits.
"So is that a pencil or what?"
