Aw, look. Two CTU agents in one post, bonding over a computer.

Well. Adam is playing a game that, as per usual, involves blowing shit up. Castle is hanging over his shoulder waiting for a turn and looking a little distracted.

Come bother either or both! Just don't make Adam lose his game.

"I'm mostly doing it so that you can, but whatever."

"I was having a pleasant night -- and I will continue to do so. It is you who took such uncomfortable offense at discussing something that I am concerned over. But it is not something you want to discuss, as are most things that we argue about, and so I give you what the hell you want and you get pissed!"

The tone and volume of his response grows steadily until he yells out the last few words.

Not going to get into it. Not going to get into it. And Adam is glancing over at them now, a tad concerned, the nosy bastard.

"Yeah," he says tightly. "Keep enjoying your pleasant evening."

He sits back down at the computer table.

Oh, go fuck yourself, Lee!

The words are clipped and angry and impulsive as he walks by them.

He turns around, responding instinctively aloud to the mental goading. "Fuck you too!"

"Whoa," Adam murmurs, raising his eyebrows. Lee glares at him.

He stops in his tracks, turning to face the two men with burning, angry eyes.

Adam is torn between leaving his computer unattended in the company of an angry field agent or escaping from the vicinity of this argument as quickly as possible. He closes the laptop and pulls it out of the way.

Lee glares back at Namo, fists clenched under the table. "Don't apologize next time if it's just an excuse to keep interrogating me."

"It was not an excuse to interrogate you -- it was an attempt to discuss a topic I find important between us," he bites out. "I am sorry I upset you the other night, that does not mean it is an excuse for anything."

"Yeah? Well, it's not a topic I care to discuss anywhere, let alone right here. You can't apologize for upsetting me with it and then turn around and do it again and get pissed when I get upset."

"And so I agreed to drop the topic as you wished. What more did you expect from me, Lee?" he asks coldly.

"I guess it was too much to ask that you not be angry about losing the opportunity to keep being cruel to me, so I shouldn't have expected any more. I'll remember not to in future."

"I was not seeking an opportunity to be cruel to you. I was seeking an opportunity for discussion. I was wrong, and in future, I will not try to engage you in such discussions. We can strike each other or just rut," he spits out intentionally, his anger rising again.

Oh god, is he ever not willing to discuss this in front of Adam, and furious with Namo on so many levels for bringing it up like that.

Adam finally takes his cue to leave and disappears like lightning.

"I accepted your fucking apology the first time," he grinds out. "We should have been done with this then!"

He isn't even going to try anymore. He shoves his chair back from the table and goes upstairs.

Námo sits heavily in a chair, burying his face in folded arms.

Well, fuck.
