There is a Guppy in the bar. And he's still annoyed about this.

He is having tea and quietly seething. Chances are not at you.

Catherine's... well. Better just to tag and not think about it.

Guppy glances over, then comes to sit next to her, managing to reduce seething for the occasion.

"You okay?"

She shakes her head. "People I like and admire pissed off at my husband, it just makes for warm fuzzy feelings all around."

Guppy gives her a hug, his scowl deepening again.

"I have heard. You can both count on my entire support in the matter. There's no way I'm going to let a good friend and colleague be victimised by a bunch of bigoted hormonal women."

"...Sorry?"

That might not have been the best choice of words there.

Oops.

Guppy is not best known for tact himself, but he certainly didn't expect this.

"Sorry. Perhaps too strong a word there. But these people are victimising a kind and talented physician who has done nothing except try to help with the advanced technology of his world. I don't see why people cannot accept that things are possible and different in other places. I'm sorry if I caused you offence, but it is a well known fact that women become more emotional at this time of the month. I meant only support."

The anger is fading. He looks rather upset to have offended Catherine, something he sincerely didn't mean to do.

Catherine restrains herself from snapping at the look on Guppy's face. "Guppy. I know you mean well. I know Hank means well and I love him so much. But he made a mistake, and he owes people an apology just as much as they owe him one."

Guppy holds his tongue and looks down at the surface of the bar. He hadn't expected this at all.

"Have you seen the notice?"

"I saw the notice. I talked with the girl who posted it." Catherine looks Guppy directly in the eye. "I know you're furious on his behalf, and I got angry, and I feel they owe him an apology too. But Guppy, this isn't his place to step in. It's not his case."

Guppy's rage begins to fade a little. He sighs.

"He's in trouble Catherine."
