Oh, Logan

He's in the bar, looking far too pleased with himself. He ought to be wearing a button reading: "I'm a genius! Ask me how!" but alas, he is not.

One reason is the upcoming date with Hannah. A masterstroke of manipulation, dating the daughter of the fake witness against him. Plus, she is supercute.

The other? Logan has a hip flask. Full of whiskey. And he shares. Usually.

"Don't I look the type?" She smiles slightly. "No, I'm really just more into comedy and romance. Besides, a lot of action movies are just the same movie over and over."

Logan laughs. "Wouldn't have pegged you for one, no. I mean, I like a good comedy, too - did they have Wedding Crashers in your world - but different stuff blows up, so it works for me."

[agirllost]

"They did, I caught it on DVD. It was really funny." She smiles, "It's weird how our world's both alike and different, isn't it?"

[obligatoryass]

"It's bizarre," he agrees. "But kind of cool to know that stuff does translate. Sometimes talking to people form the really different worlds gets tough. We have to explain everything."

[agirllost]

"Although they usually have to explain everything too," she points out. "That reminds me, our President actually has your name, Charles Logan."

[obligatoryass]

"Oh, totally," Logan says. "It gets frustrating all around."

Pause. "Really? That's kinda cool, I guess. Is he any good?"

[agirllost]

"It's a good way to experience very different cultures though."

She glances at him, "I think you'd make a better President."

[obligatoryass]

Logan winces. "Ouch. Cause I'd be totally awful. Sleeping with interns and ignoring policy."

Pause.

"Maybe not so different from a lot of other presidents, though."

[agirllost]

"I'm too young to really remember Clinton," she smiles slightly. "I'm kind of biased against our President anyway...what is yours like?"

[obligatoryass]

Logan wrinkles his nose. "I'm not a big fan. He doesn't drink, is an evangelical Christian and likes to get into wars in the Middle East."

Pause.

"Did anything weird happen on Sept. 11, 2001, for your world?"

[agirllost]

[ooc: hee!]

"He sounds like a real winner, too. We almost had a huge war a few years ago but my Dad helped prevent it...um, long story."

She glances down, "Yeah, something bad happened...did it happen on your world, too?"

[obligatoryass]

"Nice to know someone's doing something right in your world. I'm wondering if anyone is in my world."

Logan frowns. "World Trade Center?" he asks.

((OOC: I have a feeling that Logan doesn't trust people who don't drink.))

[agirllost]

"Can't prevent everything, though. I imagine your LA is safer than mine."

She nods slightly, "Both towers. They managed to get the plane before it hit the Pentagon though."

[obligatoryass]

"Same in ours," Logan says glumly. "It was the first thing I really remember being aware of, you know? First big event and all."

He was in eighth grade. Every class was let out that day. He still didn't see his parents; they were filming something together, and couldn't get a break.

He gives her a faint, twisted smile."Or I just don't know how unsafe it is. I don't have a dad who saves the world or anything."

[agirllost]

"I know what you mean, I just remember people being really afraid...I was thirteen and it seemed unreal to me."

She looks down at her hands, "Some of the things that have happened near LA are pretty much public knowledge."

[obligatoryass]

"Yeah, I was 14," he says, then grins. "That's funny, isn't it? I'm totally older than you, except not here."

The grin fades, though. "Then it really must be a bit safer," he says. "Course, there's time for that to change."

[agirllost]

"Probably only by a few months, when is your birthday?"

She was about half a year off of 14, that had to count.

"At least we know we had different Presidents, so you don't have to worry about some things. How are things back home?"

[obligatoryass]

"March 21," Logan says. "Born in '88."

The mun cannot do math. He was 13 in 2001.

[agirllost]

She grins, "I was born April 12, 1988...you're only about a month older than me."

Or so mun thinks. She knows Kim was 15 almost 16 in March 2004.

[obligatoryass]

"That's just...bizarre," Logan says. "Because you're, what, 22 or so now? I wonder if there's a Logan Echolls in your world who's older and stuff."

And closer to normal, with parents who never became movie stars.

[agirllost]

"I'm from May, so, I'm 23." She thinks for a moment, "I don't know, I'm not sure if it works that way...mainly because imagining another me out there's a little frightening."

Although she had been to her very own alternate timeline.

[obligatoryass]

"It is really freaky," he agrees. "I pretty much don't want to know, really. But it's crazy to think about."

[agirllost]

She tries to smile, "Well, it seemed like the you from your world seemed pretty happy when you came in here."

[obligatoryass]

"Yeah, things are looking up," he says. "I went to winter carnival and had kind of a good time, and I'm getting closer to figuring out how not to get convicted of murder. So yeah, things are looking up."

[agirllost]

It's been a long year for her. "I'm...not sure if you mentioned that before."
