The front door opens to a wee girl who's been to the bar many times before . . . and a woman who has not.

"See, Mummy?" Megan Pace says gleefully, as Karen Pace looks about in wonder and confusion.

"I've been wondering when you'd find your way here," Charlie says to Karen, arm around Darien's waist. "I figured you would eventually. The Bar kinda . . . seems to call people when they're ready."

Liam steps over and wraps an arm around Karen for a quick hug.

"Would've been nice if I'd figured out a way to explain first. But then, maybe I never would have."

"Discovering it is probably the best way," Karen says quietly. "It's much easier to believe when you can see it with your own eyes."

"Or not see it."

Grin.

And a kiss to Charlie's cheek.

Charlie gives him his that's my man grin. "Show-off."

He pouts at Charlie.

"She asked."

"You're cute when you're sulky."

Megan is still clinging to somewhere around Charlie's knee, it should be noted.

Except where Charlie picked her up, but that's neither here nor there.

But in case she feels left out, she gets a few extra snuggles. "You're also cute," Charlie informs her.

Darien grins at Megan.

"Cuter than me. You've got the blonde thing going for you, kiddo."

Karen watches how comfortable Megan is with Charlie and smiles quietly. She reaches for Liam's hand.

Liam squeezes her hand, with a smile.

"I'm glad you're here."

"I am too," she says.

"Me three!"

And he grins.

Liam laughs at him. He's just... happy.

Charlie gives Darien a kiss on the cheek for that.

Megan snuggles into his arms, contentedly.

And Darien just smiles.

Life's...not as good as it could be, because he's wishing Kevin was here, but it's better than it could be.
