I bet you didn't know Daisy Adair could play the piano, did you?

... well, her mun didn't either, and had to check a couple of canon resources to be sure.

But, lo and behold, Daisy Adair can play the piano, and is currently doing so!

She's very fond of the song -- even has her eyes closed as she plays it.

So you'd probably scare her to death (again) if you poked her.

Daisy offers her a smile, but doesn't sway from her lyrics.

The rain had me chilled to the bones
Just the three of us
Took flight that night
Uncle Richard, me,
And James Earl Jones.

She smiles back, shyly.

The F sharp chord makes itself known -- loudly -- and then Daisy stops.

"I'm Daisy," she says softly. "What's your name?"

Children do not get the same introduction at all. She likes them. Especially girls.

"Hi. Megan."

"Megan. That's a pretty name -- and it really is, I'm not just some silly adult saying that to look for words. It's the name of a lot of important people, actually."

"Gramma's name", she volunteers.

"Like your grandmother. See! Important person. Right there."

Megan beams at her.

"Do you like liccorice? The black kind?"

... She won't give up until she finds someone who does.

Megan likes all sweets.

She nods, eyes wide.

And out of Daisy's purse? A stick of black liccorice.

"There you are, then, miss Megan."

She takes it eagerly and puts it in her mouth.

A few minutes later, she remembers her manners.

"Fank you."

"You're quite welcome, my dear."

Another bright smile.

Megan's mouth might be a little... black, now.

"... do you have parents who are about to show up and yell at me for giving you candy?"

Please do not let that statement be prophetic.

She looks around guiltily, then looks back at Daisy and shakes her head. It's more hopeful than actually true.

Daisy knows that concerned look.

But just in case she's wrong, she slips Megan another stick.

Shh.

It disappears into a pocket. Just in time for Liam to show up.

"Scamming people out of sweets again, Meggie?"

Oops.

"... No, I offered. I assume you're her father, then?"

"I am. Liam Pace."

He doesn't seem too annoyed, though.

"Daisy -- Daisy Adair. I was just talking to Megan, and I asked if she liked liccorice. I promise I'm not trying to kidnap her either -- I know some parents warn heavily against the 'candy from strangers' issue."

"You wouldn't get far with her if you were. People know us here. But Megan knows she's not supposed to do that anyway."

He shoots her a stern look, and she pouts.

"Never meant to cause any trouble, I promise. I just had some extra. It was a gift," she adds, "and there's no way I'd have eaten it all."

Megan looks up at her father appealingly, and he nods.

"No trouble. But that's only this time, Meggie", he warns.
