Ako had mentioned to Laini about the tabs. Thus, when Laini arrives today, she has a small purse-sized bag with her. It gets set on the top of the Bar, and she rapidly sorts through it. Yira, shekles, galliahs, omis, along with chinese dollars and USD $2 bills get stacked on the bartop as she does conversions on her PDA.

"Sixty-nine per, cross by the inflation rate of feathers in finland... and that should cover it, with a bit to spare. We're good?"

Apparently, as the money vanishes. Laini grins, and orders some sort of coffee drink, with enough flavors and sugar in it that the existance of coffee in the cup is debatable.

((OOC: Slowtime for early shift- night all!))

"Oh, fun. I'm sure he'll love it." He gives her hand a gentle squeeze. "Seems we're both doing well."

"You bet." House held his milkshake up triumphantly.

It felt good, to just relax and share a good natured conversation with an old friend. He'd been wound so tightly since his return to the bar, even as his leg settle down again. Talking to Laini, he could forget all the uncertainty he was dealing with in other areas of his life.

"To us."

"You got that right." House grins. He hasn't felt this relaxed since coming back to the bar. "It's really good to see you."

"Something like that. Last case I worked, I just had a guy, rejected by the heart transplant committee because he was too old." House frowns to think of it, even now. "So I found him a heart, a woman who was brain dead after a car accident, and I had to figure out what was wrong with her organs. Of course the husband couldn't tell us the truth, and we wasted valuable time trying to save a dead woman's heart. Turns out she had gonorrhea, and I figured the guy would rather have an STD in his blood, than six feet of dirt on top of him."

"Well, it was in her blood stream, so when we gave him her heart, it was in his blood stream. Operation was a success, though. Old guy will have a few more years with his kid." House smiles, although beams might e more appropriate.

"Don't feel bad. Not everyone can do it, or what would be the point? We'd all just be able to heal ourselves, and I'd be out of work."

"See? Somebody's got to do it." House smiled. "I took a couple computer classes once, but it wasn't really my thing."

"You're so not kidding." House laughs. "The hospital has a pretty good tech staff, though. And there's always Wilson. Bribe him with beer, he'll do anything I ask." Not strictly true, but close enough.

"Only the best for my Jimmy. He won't work for anything less."

"Whatever I have on hand." House laughs. "No, I don't know. He likes Sam Adams. Becks is good too."

House sticks his tongue out. "Much better than Coronas."

"Okay, you got me there." House laughs. "The lime really is a selling point." He shakes his head, still smiling.
