Slayer inna bar, with coffee and food.
Headphones are in evidence, but no books, this time, Antarian or otherwise.
Conversation welcome.

"Faith, hey!"

"He came back."
...
"Through the door. Which he exited. On purpose."

And stares.
And blinks some more.
"...oh for the love of little green apples."

"Except there may have been yelling. Just a little."

"He wasn't hurt, and I haven't gotten up the courage yet to ask about any of the rest of it. All he told me was that he went to one of the Death Realms -- and wait for it, 'cause it gets better -- for a book. A book of great importance, apparently, but still. A BOOK."

"....you know? If it was anybody but Wes - or possibly Giles - I might be surprised by that. Did he tell you what book it was? Because knowing him it's a copy of 'The Little Engine That Could' translated into Sumerian."

"He told me what it was, and I listened, really, but I was kind of busy being furious. Something dangerous, he said. Too dangerous to be left where it was, which makes me worry a little bit about bringing it here, to be honest."

Except that...Lilah was here, once.
"Maybe."

"I hope not, anyway. Though sometimes I wonder if there aren't worse things here than even Wolfram and Hart could dream up."
Fred's had a run in with one or two such things, and though she hasn't yet ever fully recognized them for what they were, she isn't oblivious.
"But I trust Wesley's judgment. If he says it's that important, and he really thinks it needed to be here, well... all I can do is wish he'd told somebody first."

"Just because I've forgiven him doesn't mean I think he should get away with making me worry that easily."

Faith giggles.
"Can I crush metal while I'm yelling? Really drive the point home?"
no subject
Wesley may just end up being glad he's already dead.
