In one of the more shadowed corners of the bar something stirs, tawny-gold fur catching the light.

It is a Lion, head coming up off his forepaws, solemn golden eyes watching the patrons as they pass by.

Aslan has been here for quite some time.

"What I want and what fate allows me to grasp are two entirely different thing, great cat," Tyrion scoffs, before he ends up in a fluffy chair before the fire.

Tyrion's bicolored eyes narrow, black and green on the cat's great gold. "Choice is one thing, when you have the chance to indulge it."

Tyrion sneers; the scar on his face leaps with it, half-nose and split lip making the expression that much more ugly. "Oh, quite a few. And I can tell you how much risk has rewarded me."

"Life has no reward. It only as living," Tyrion replies, curling into his chair a little; he's not afraid, but this is not a good subject.

The dwarf just looks at the lion. "When a child burns his hand, does he not learn to avoid the flame?" he asks smoothly. "When a whore betrays a man for more coin, does he not learn to keep them out of his bed? Or -- when life rewards risk with suffering, does a man not learn to chose his chance more carefully?"

Tyrion laughs at the turn around; it's not bitter--- he does love a person who can turn his wit back at him. "As you say, as you say. But for all my suffering, I've yet to see the coin of my reward. For now, I am grateful for my life and freedom. The rest..."

He shrugs. The rest, he simply does not know.

"I've managed to keep it so far; besides, aren't I short enough already?" the dwarf quirks his maimed lips into another grin.

Tyrion laughs softly, and shakes his head. "Then, fair Aslan, don't trouble yourself about it."

[Fade's good -- and no problem. Thanks!]
